SE HACE REACCIONAR EN CONDICIONES DE ALTO GRADO DE CIZALLAMIENTO Y A LA TEMPERATURA AMBIENTE, ALGINA, TAL COMO ALGINATO SODICO, ALGINATO POTASICO, ALGINATO AMONICO O UN ALGINATO ESTERIFICADO, EN UNA PRIMERA SOLUCION ACUOSA CON CATIONES DE METALES DEVALENTES O TRIVALENTES, EN PRESENCIA DE MODIFICADORES DE LA FIBRA DE ALTO PESO MOLECULAR, TALES COMO SOLIDOS DE FRUTAS O VERDURAS, HIDRATOS DE CARBONO, GRASAS O ACEITES. EN UNA SEGUNDA SOLUCION SE HACE REACCIONAR LA ALGINA CON DICHOS CATIONES EN EXCESO SOBRE LA CANTIDAD ESTEQUIOMETRICA NECESARIA PARA PRECIPITAR LA CITADA ALGINA, AGREGANDOSE SOBRE ESTA SEGUNDA SOLUCION LA PRIMERA SOLUCION.
