Abstract
1,209,562. Hydrolysing waste. CHEMATUR A.B. 10 Oct., 1968 [20 Oct., 1967], No. 48097/68. Heading C1C. [Also in Division C6] In a method of producing a substrate comprising sugars and amino acids suitable for ferementation, waste domestic and industrial vegetable material and animal material which contains protein are hydrolysed at elevated temperature and pressure in the presence of sulphuric or sulphurous acid. The materials may be hydrolysed separately and the two hydrolysates mixed to provide the substrate.
