Abstract
319,079. Distillers Co., Ltd., and Hutchinson, H. B. June 25, 1928. Acetone along with butyl alcohol is obtained. by fermentation of starchy material naturally poor in nutrient substances (protein) such as manioc, in the presence of added non-protein nitrogenous nutrient such as ammonium salts, urea or amino acids. The nutrient may be added all at once or at intervals or continuously. Examples are given using a mash of manioc flour and ammonium phosphate.
