METODO DE FABRICACION DE ACIDO SULFURICO A PARTIR DE UN GAS QUE TIENE DIOXIDO DE AZUFRE. EL GAS QUE SE EMPLEA NORMALMENTE ES OBTENIDO A PARTIR DE PROCEDIMIENTOS METALURGICOS. EL DIOXIDO DE AZUFRE QUE CONTIENE EL GAS SE OXIDA A TRIOXIDO DE AZUFRE EN PRESENCIA DE UN CATALIZADOR, CONVIRTIENDOSE EL TRIOXIDO DE AZUFRE EN ACIDO SULFURICO. EL DIOXIDO DE AZUFRE DEL GAS SE SEPARA DE ESTE EMPLEANDO UN PROCEDIMIENTO PARA PRODUCIR DIOXIDO DE AZUFRE LIQUIDO. EN LA OXIDACION, LA PROPORCION MOLAR SO2/O2 DEBE ESTAR ENTRE 9 Y 11, ESTANDO PARTE DEL DIOXIDO DE AZUFRE EN ESTADO LIQUIDO. EL DIOXIDO DE AZUFRE QUE NO LLEGA A OXIDARSE SE RECIRCULA PARA EMPEZAR DE NUEVO EL PROCESO.
