PROCEDIMIENTO DE OBTENCION DE UNA SOLUCION ACUOSA DE UN COPOLIMERO DE ESTIRENO/ANHIDRIDO DE ACIDO MALEICO. CONSISTE EN CALENTAR UN COPOLIMERO CON UNA PROPORCION MOLAR DE ESTIRENO/ANHIDRIDO DE ACIDO MALEICO DE 1,5:1 HASTA 6:1 Y UN PESO MOLECULAR DE 500 A 80.000; EL CALENTAMIENTO SE EFECTUA A UNA TEMPERATURA DE 75 A 250GC EN PRESENCIA DE AGUA Y DE TANTO AMONIACO O DE HIDROXIDO DE METAL ALCALINOTEREO O DE OXIDO E CINC QUE SE NEUTRALIZA EL 1 AL 60 POR 100 DE LOS GRUPOS CARBOXILO DEL COPOLIMERO. EL CALENTAMIENTO TIENE LUGAR EN PRESENCIA DE UN EMULSIONANTE ANIONICO. LA CONCENTRACION DEL COPOLIMERO ES DE 5 HASTA 50 POR 100 EN PESO (REFERIDO A LA CANTIDAD GLOBAL DE COPOLIMERO Y AGUA). EL PH DE LA SOLUCION ES INFERIOR A 7. AGENTES DISPERSANTES DE PIGMENTOS, COLOIDE PROTECTOR, AGENTE ESPESANTE O AGENTE LUBRICANTE.
