Abstract
A plate heat exchanger with pressure-resistant fluid-tight shell has a shell which includes two flanges placeed parallel to the plates one on either side of them. The flanges are joined to the end plates and define connecting components for the side panels extending along the edge of the plates to which these side panels are connected. The invention allows the use of a parallelepipedal shell at high pressures of the fluid circulating outside the plates. It eliminates the problems associated with the use of cast boxes, e.g. the high cost and the large weight and space occupied, c.f. the use of a simple box in sheet metals.
