Abstract

A plate type heat exchanger adapted for handling particularly highly viscous fluid, which heat exchanger comprises a plurality of plate elements (1) tightly engaged with each other to form spaces (4), (5) for both media to be heat exchanged therebetween, each of the plates (1) being provided with a plurality of partition grooves (2) laterally extending in space in the vertical direction over the entire heat transfer surfaces thereof, and waveshapes (3) extending vertically in space laterally of the partition grooves.
