Abstract
Un procedimiento mejorado para el afino de acero fundido contenido en un convertidor por inyección de oxígeno en la colada por encima de la superficie de la colada con lo que se forma una emulsión encima de dicha superficie, en el que la mejora comprende: prevenir el salpicado tumultuoso de dicha emulsión desde dicho convertidor por: (a) inyección de un gas inerte en el convertidor cuando el salpicado tumultuoso es inminente o ha comenzado, a un caudal suficiente para detener el salpicado tumultuoso, mientras que se continúa la inyección con oxígeno, y (b) interrupción de la inyección de gas inerte en el convertidor cuando el salpicado tumultuoso ha cesado o ya no es inminente.
