Abstract
Un método para tratar aluminio metálico fundido para reducir su contenido de impurezas de metal alcalino y metal alcalino- térreo, que comprende mantener un lecho de material que contiene fluoruro de aluminio en partículas reactivas sumergido en una masa de aluminio fundido, teniendo dicho material un punto de fusión por encima de la temperatura de dicho aluminio fundido y manteniéndose sumergido con independencia del flujo positivo o flujo cero del aluminio fundido a través de dicho lecho de material en partículas, y hacer pasar una corriente de aluminio fundido a través de dicho lecho por reacción de su contenido de metal alcalino y metal alcalino-térreo con dicho material que contiene fluoruro de aluminio reactivo.
