Abstract

New concn. and supplemented protein-contg. animal feed having balanced amts. of the essential amino acids is the prod. of the chemical hydrolysis of slaughterhouse wastes from the fishing industry and/or vegetable wastes. The hydrolysis is carried out by treating the starting material in the warm with an aq. soln. of a strong mineral acid, cooling, neutralising with a base, and recovering the hydrolysis prod. by filtration. Used as liq. or solid fodder for cattle, sheep, pigs, poultry etc. Essential amino acids are present in balanced amts. thus ensuring optimal utilisation.
