Abstract

Procedimiento para el tratamiento de materias primas que contienen arsénico y metal, para producir un producto de arsénico libre de metal y un sulfato de metal libre de arsénico, lixiviando el material utilizando una solución acuosa de ácido sulfúrico y cristalizando los metales a partir de la solución acuosa separada, que es separada de los cristales de sulfato de metal, caracterizado porque la lixiviación tiene lugar a una temperatura elevada, y posiblemente bajo condiciones oxidizantes, para convertir el arsénico a su forma pentavalente, porque los sulfatos de metal son sometidos a cristalización a partir de la solución acuosa arsenífera selectivamente separada por enfriamiento, y porque el arsénico es extraído de al menos parte de esta solución acuosa antes de ser devuelta a la lixiviación.
