Abstract

Procedimiento para producir una dispersión uniforme de fibras para operaciones de fabricación de papel en húmedo, de fasces de fibras largas, caracterizado porque comprende los pasos de: (1) proveer un lodo de fibras inicial que consiste esencialmente de un líquido de dispersión que tiene una viscosidad de por lo menos aproximadamente 2 cps y fibras largas en la forma de fasces de fibras no abiertos por lo menos parcialmente, las fibras en dichos fasces teniendo una longitud de fibra de 6,34 mm. y más; (2) hacer fluir continuamente dicho lodo de fibras a través de una cámara de dispersión en línea provista con una pluralidad de impulsores no cortadores, adaptados para generar turbulencia rompedora de flujo, de alta intensidad, dicho lodo siendo alimentado continuamente a través de la cámara a un régimen de producción suficientemente rápido para que las cámaras de dispersión de fibras de fabricación de papel convencionales suministren un tiempo de residencia en la cámara de sólo aproximadamente 10 minutos y menos; (3) someter dicho lodo a dichas regiones con la turbulencia siendo de intensidad suficiente para abrir rápidamente los fasces de fibras y dispersar las fibras individuales durante dicho tiempo de residencia dentro de la cámara; y (4) separar las fibras dispersadas y el líquido de la cámara como una dispersión de fibras substancialmente uniforme y homogénea para formación subsecuente de lámina en una operación de fabricación de papel en húmedo.
