Abstract

1. Un cable de fibra óptica, que comprende: a) Una cubierta tubular longitudinal. b) Un soporte dispuesto dentro de dicha cubierta, el cual tiene un núcleo central desde el cual se extienden varios brazos radiales cada uno de los cuales se dirige hacia la superficie interior de la cubierta para formar varios compartimentos, los cuales están adaptados para acomodar al menos una fibra óptica, teniendo dicho núcleo central una abertura longitudinal y fabricado dicho elemento soporte de un plástico que tiene embebidas en el mismo varias fibras de vidrio orientadas longitudinalmente a lo largo del elemento soporte y de una longitud sustancialmente menor que dicho elemento. c) Un elemento soporte central situado en dicha abertura del elemento soporte, con lo que dicho elemento de rígidez y el elemento soporte, porporcionan soporte adicional a dicho cable haciendo posible una reducción del área transversal del elemento de rigidez central. 2. Un cable de fibra óptica, según la reivindicación 1, donde dicho plástico es polietileno. 3. Un cable de fibra óptica, según la reivindicación 1, donde las fibras de vidrio son de unos 0,5 centímetros de longitud. 4. Un cable de fibra óptica, según la reivindicación 1, donde dicho elemento soporte se extruye con dichas fibras de vidrio. 5. Un cable de fibra óptica, según la reivindicación 1, donde el elemento de rígidez central es de vidrio impregnado de epoxy. 6. Un cable de fibra óptica según la reivindicación 1, donde dichas fibras comprenden entre 25-30 por ciento del volumen del material de dicho elemento soporte. 7. Un cable de fibra óptica, según la reivindicación 1, donde el elemento de rígidez está fabricado de plástico reforzado de vidrio. 8. Un cable de fibra óptica, según la reivindicación 7, donde dicho plástico es polietileno. 9. Un cable de fibra óptica, según la reivindicación 1, donde dichas fibras de vidrio están incrustadas en dicho elemento soporte de manera que no asoman a la superficie. 10. Un cable defibra óptica ranurado.
