CONSTITUTION:An ostrich yarn is doubled around the wadding yarn by a ring twister, and the pressing yarn is wrapped around the yarns to form a fancy yarn. The coefficient of friction (mu F/M) of the ostrich yarn with the traveler of the twister is 0.19 or below. The coefficient is reduced by spraying or immersing synthetic fiber tows or crimped or cut fibers in a suitable oil, or by applying the oil to fibers, including natural ones before or after the spinning. The ostrick yarn will not shift from the wadding yarn to give a uniform fancy yarn having uniform loops of the ostrich yarn even at a high number of spindle revolutions.
