Abstract
Un procedimiento mejorado para la producción de acero descarburizando una masa fundida férrea contenida en un recipiente por inyección de oxígeno en la masa fundida desde encima de su superficie, comprendiendo dicha mejora: producir acero que tiene un contenido de nitrógeno elevado, dentro de un intervalo previamente preseleccionado por: (a) introducir un gas rico en nitrógeno en la masa fundida, simultáneamente con dicho oxígeno durante la última parte de la etapa de descarburización, en una cantidad al menos igual a 3 M3N de nitrógeno por tonelada métrica de metal fundido y de tal forma que promueva una interacción intensiva del gas rico en nitrógeno con el metal fundido, (b) afinar la masa fundida con el oxígeno y el gas rico en nitrógeno inyectando la masa fundida hasta un contenido de manganesa final al menos tan bajo como 0,10% , y (c) mantener la presión parcial del nitrógeno en el espacio de cabeza del recipiente al menos igual a la calculada para estar en equilibrio conel contenido de nitrógeno disuelto esperado del metal fundido a 1600ºC.
