Abstract
Un método para activar microorganismos vivos inmovilizados, aplicados a transformaciones de esteroides, antibióticos y otros compuestos, que incluyen las operaciones siguientes : a) desarrollar los microorganismos en un medio nutriente, b) inducir la actividad catalítica por adición de un precursor para la transformación, c) cosechar los microorganismos, d) inmovilizar los microorganismos en la matriz de gel, e) fragmentar la matriz de gel, y f) utilizar la matriz de gel fragmentada para transformaciones por tandas repetidas de esteroides, antibióticos y otros compuestos en un medio que contiene un substrato, en cuya transformación se intercambia el medio, después de la pasada de cada tanda, por un medio nuevo que contiene el substrato, efectuándose una adición de peptona, glucosa o una mezcla de peptona y glucosa al medio que contiene el substrato.
