Abstract

A lifting jack is disclosed for use in lifting automotive vehicles and other heavy objects. The jack includes a spur gear placed in slots in a guide housing such that the gear extends out of the guide housing through the slots. A pinion gear located outside the housing engages the spur gear and is driven by lever means to turn the spur gear. A lifting spindle is fastened to the spur gear within the housing.
