Procedure for the preparation of new beta-aryl-2-aminoalkoxystyrenes of the general formula **(See formula)** wherein Ar means a phenyl radical, the 2-, or 3-, or 4-pyridyl radical which may optionally be further substituted by a lower alcohol group, the 2-quinoline or 2-pyrazinyl radical, which may optionally be further substituted by a lower alcohol radical, the pyrimidyl radical optionally substituted by a lower alcohol group, the 2-benzimidazolyl radical optionally substituted by a halogen atom or by a lower alcohol radical or the trifluoromethyl group, the 2-furyl or 2-thienyl radical, the 5-isoxazolyl radical optionally substituted by a lower alcohol group or the phenyl radical, the 5- (1,2,4-oxadiazolyl) radical optionally substituted by a lower alcohol radical; and R1, R2, R4 and R5, which may be the same or different from each other, signify hydrogen atoms or lower alcohol radicals, R3 signifies a hydrogen atom, a lower alkoxy group; R6 and R7, which may be the same or different from each other, signify hydrogen atoms or radicals of alcohol, alkenyl, hydroxyalcoyl, alkoxyalcoliyl or lower aralkoxy, the radicals R6 and R7 being able to form, also, together with the nitrogen atom located between them, a 5- to 7-membered heterocyclic, monocyclic and saturated ring, which may optionally be further interrupted by an oxygen atom or by another nitrogen atom and n denotes the numbers 0 or 1, as well as their acid addition salts with organic acids and inorganic, characterized in that a phosphonic acid ester of the general formula is reacted **(See formula)** in which the radicals R2 to R7 and n have the initially indicated meanings and R8 represents a lower alcohol radical, with an aldehyde or ketone of the general formula **(See formula)** wherein Ar and R1 are defined as indicated above, in the presence of a base, with intermediate formation of a carbanion of the compound of the general formula II, and in the presence of a solvent, and if desired, a optionally resulting mixture of the cis and trans isomers by fractional crystallization and/or if desired, the compound obtained from formula I is transformed into its salt by addition of acid by means of an organic or inorganic acid.
