Apparatus for retaining a stack of cut sheets of carrier material in feed alignment as individual sheets are separated and fed therefrom, said apparatus comprising a lift arm rotatably mounted at one end of the stack and arranged to move in a plane substantially parallel with respect to the respective front margin, a body element mounted to rotate freely at the free end of said lifting arm in which said body element remains in constant alignment with respect to the front margin of the stack As the lifting arm moves through said plane, a stack adjusting element mounted on said body in a position to adjust with the blade located at the highest part of said stack and to hold it in alignment as they are separated and they feed the leaves from it.
