Abstract
A rotary-piston I.C. engine casing 1 is made (see Division B3) by casting around a sintered sparking plug seating 2 which can be subsequently machined to form the plug socket. The sintered seating may be of Al (possibly including 5-15% alumina), Mg, Mg with magnesia, Ni with 7-8% thoria or Cu-alumina or Cu-Ni-alumina. The casing 1 may be Al or Al alloy, Mg or grey or spheroidal graphite cast iron.
