Abstract

A lead bronze alloy for lining the cylinder of an internal combustion engine is sintered or cast on to a steel shell and comprises 2 to 12 per cent tin, 3 to 40 per cent lead and the remainder copper, the copper content being correspondingly reduced if 1 to 5 per cent zinc and/or 1 to 3 per cent nickel be introduced.
