Abstract

A method and its corresponding image fixing apparatus in which a powder image is formed comprising printing powder particles charged on an insulating surface from which printing powder particles are transferred to a backing sheet, characterized in that the method by fact that the powder image-bearing insulating surface is subjected to a low-level corona discharge with a polarity opposite to that of the charge of the printing powder particles covering the image fixing areas of the insulating surface to thereby imparting polarity to the printing powder particles covering the image fixer areas of the insulating surface opposite to that of the printing powder particles covering the image fixing areas to facilitate only the transfer of the image particles.
