Abstract

An evaporator 4 of inverted channel shape is located in the upper part of and spaced from the refrigerator liner to define the top and side walls of a low-temperature compartment 3, the bottom wall 5 of which is non-refrigerating, i.e. it does not include or carry refrigerant ducting. Wall 5 is formed of sheet metal coated on its lower and/or upper surfaces with " Polythene " (Registered Trade Mark) and a chiller tray 7 is mounted beneath compartment 3.
