Abstract

1,032,702. Refrigerators. ELECTROLUX Ltd. Nov. 18, 1963 [Nov. 19, 1962], No. 45375/63. Heading F4H. A refrigerated cabinet comprises an inner liner 14, an outer shell (not shown), an evaporator 15 around the outside of the inner liner, in situ, foamed plastics insulation (not shown) between the inner liner and outer shell and a partition 30 dividing the compartment defined by liner 14 into freezer and storage compartments, one or more joints between the conduits of the refrigerating system being disposed within partition 30 so as not to be covered by the foamed insulation. The junction between the capillary tube 31 and the inlet 32 of the evaporator is disposed within the partition which also contains a portion of the suction line 28 and an accumulator or dryer 33. Partition 30 may comprise a pair of spaced, removable metal plates and may contain rock or glass-wool insulation or a block of pre-foamed plastics insulation which is disposed on the warmer side of those parts of the refrigerating system within the partition. The system condenser is arranged in contact with the outer shell of the cabinet. The evaporator may be arranged to contact the bottom as well as the side walls of the liner and may have a portion disposed within partition 30.
