Abstract
An optical telecommunications cable which consists of at least one optical conductor (14), which has a cladding (12) made from a cured resin system as matrix in which there are embedded as armour oriented reinforcing fibres impregnated therewith, is improved for the purpose of equalising the expansion between the cable core (11) and cladding (12) in that a plurality of conductors (14) are constituents of the cable core (11), the conductors (14) being wrapped round by at least one layer (16) of plastic film over which at least one layer (17) of filaments is arranged and on which at least one further layer (18) of a winding of plastic film is provided, and in that this cable core (11) is arranged loosely in the cladding (12).
