Abstract
PURPOSE:To reduce a transmission loss by preventing a stranded tape unit from recoiling by providing a guide sheath around the external circumference of the stranded tape unit and by adding recess restraint parts on the guide sheath at a constant pitch according to a stranding pitch. CONSTITUTION:Tape units 1 each formed in a tape shape by providing optical fibers successively are laminated to form a tape-unit assembly bundle 2. On this unit assembly bundle 2, a guide sheath 3 made of a polyester resin, etc., is provided continuously by an extruding sheathing device, etc., and recess restraint parts 4 and 4' holding the tape unit bundle 1 from the four external circumferential surfaces of the guide sheath 3 are provided at a constant pitch matched with the stranding pitch of the tape unit assembly bundle 2. Further, a sheath 5 made of a resin material, such as polyethylene, is provided around the external circumference to form a tape type optical cable fiber.
