Abstract

1529001 Light guides SIEMENS AG 28 Jan 1976 [25 March 1975] 03239/76 Heading G2J A glass fibre 1 or a glass fibre bundle (not shown) is surrounded by a protective sheath 2 having an inner diameter which is greater by at least 30% than the outer diameter of the fibre or bundle and being composed of two layers of different synthetic resin materials viz an inner layer 21 of polystyrene or a fluorinated polymer (for sliding freely on the fibre(s)) and an outer layer 22 of a polyamide, a polytetraphthalate, polypropylene or polyethylene (for withstanding rough handling). High tensile fibres 23 e.g. of glass, steel or synthetic resin may be provided as shown in Fig. 2
