Con referencia a las FIGS. 5A y 5B, en aún otra realización, se muestra un puerto de herida 500. El puerto de herida 500 es adecuado para su uso con los apósitos para herida descritos anteriormente. El puerto de herida 500 tiene una cubierta de plástico 510 que incluye un puerto de vacío 512. Además del puerto de vacío 512, la cubierta de plástico 510 tiene el tubo 520. El tubo 520 puede estar hecho de un acero inoxidable de calibre pequeño o de plástico rígido. El tubo 520 se utiliza para proporcionar una fuga controlada o fija por la admisión de aire en el apósito para herida. El extremo del tubo 520 que puede estar expuesto a la atmósfera ambiente o a una fuente de aire puede incluir un filtro 522. El filtro 522 puede ser un filtro de aire como de punta q para evitar la obstrucción del tubo y también evitar que la suciedad y otros contaminantes entren el sitio de la herida. Alternativamente, el filtro 522 puede incluir un filtro de carbón para prevenir el mal olor, un filtro hidrófobo, o cualquier material sinterizado o poroso.
