Abstract
Un método para detectar el cáncer de páncreas, que comprende las etapas de: 1) poner en contacto una lectina específica de fucosa α1→ 6 con una muestra que se ha obtenido de un cuerpo vivo con el fin de dejarse actuar sobre la haptoglobina patológica presente en la muestra y obtener un complejo lectina-haptoglobina patológica, donde dicha lectina: (1) es extraída de basidiomicetos, (2) tiene un peso molecular de 4.000 a 40.000 determinado por el método de electroforesis en gel de poliacrilamida SDS, (3) tiene afinidad por las cadenas de azúcar de fucosa α1→ 6 con una constante de unión de 1,0 x 104 M-1 o mayor a 25°C, y (4) tiene una constante de unión de 1,0 x 103 M-1 o menor para una cadena de azúcar de alto contenido en manosa y/o un glicolípido que no contiene una cadena de azúcar de fucosa α1→ 6 y 2) determinar el complejo lectina-haptoglobina patológica para detectar la existencia del cáncer de páncreas.
