Abstract
Mejoras introducidas en la fabricación de neumáticos sin cámara que comprenden un neumático anular de vientre abierto con talones en sus bordes, adaptado para ser montado sobre una llanta anular provista de asientos para montar los talones; un diafragma anular, flexible y esencialmente impenetrable, de goma reforzada con tejido, salvando el espacio comprendido entre las paredes internas opuestas del neumático, y dotado de prolongaciones dispuestas entre los talones del neumático y los asientos de los mismos en la llanta, con lo cual se mantienen dichas prolongaciones en su sitio entre unos y otros, dividiendo así el diafragma al espacio anular comprendido entre el neumático y la llanta en un compartimiento interno adyacente a la llanta y un compartimiento externo adyacente al neumático con una pared común esencialemente impenetrable entre ambos constituida por el diafragma; y medios para inflar cada uno de los compartimientos; estando el diafragma arqueado hacia fuera lo bastantepara que la parte de más afuera del mismo se prolongue materialmente más allá de la superficie externa de la llanta pero quede materialmente separado de la superficie interna de rodadura del neumático, con lo cual, estando ambos compartimientos inflados, el diafragma no entre en contacto con la superficie interna de rodadura durante el funcionamiento del neumático sobre carreteras relativamente lisas, y sin embargo mantendrá a la superficie de rodadura del neumático esencialmente separada de la llanta cuando el compartimiento externo se desinfle, para impedir así cualquier aplastamiento importante de las paredes laterales del neumático, comprendiendo una de las superficies opuestas del diafragma y de la superficie interna de rodadura goma con un lubricante físicamente incrustado en la misma en su superficie exterior para proporcionar una superficie lubricada continuamente renovable.
