Abstract
Enfriamiento por cambio de fase de componentes de freno. Se facilita un dispositivo de enfriamiento para un componente de freno. El componente de freno incluye un elemento estructural que tiene una cavidad interior. Un material refrigerante está dispuesto dentro de la cavidad. El material tiene una temperatura de cambio de fase a una presión y volumen particulares. El material absorbe el calor generador por el elemento estructural cambiando de un primer estado a un segundo estado a la temperatura de cambio de fase para mantener el componente de freno o elemento estructural por debajo de la temperatura operativa máxima. La temperatura de cambio de fase se puede definir por un punto de fusión del material en el que el primer estado es sólido y el segundo estado es líquido, o por un punto de evaporación del material en el que el primer estado es líquido y el segundo estado es gas.
