Abstract
Grano de mullita exento de cristobalita que tiene reactividad reducida con el aluminio fundido y método para producirlo. Este método comprende las etapas de: producir una suspensión de una arcilla compuesta de agua y arcilla de caolín de un tamaño de partícula específico; y mezclar un compuesto insoluble en agua que contiene bario o estroncio con la suspensión de la arcilla en una cantidad en la que el contenido de compuesto que bario o estroncio en la suspensión es igual a aproximadamente 8% en peso de la arcilla de caolín en la suspensión; separar suficiente agua de la suspensión para formar un material que tiene una consistencia peletizable; conformar el material en pelets; calentar los pelets moviéndolos continuamente a través de un horno que tiene una zona en la que el material se expone a temperaturas de al menos 1.455ºC durante al menos 30 minutos.
