Abstract

Procedimiento de obtención del polimorfo A del mesilato de doxazosina, caracterizado porque comprende las siguientes etapas: (i) hacer reaccionar la doxazosina base con el ácido metansulfónico en el seno de una mezcla de disolventes que contiene un alcohol de cadena corta C1-C4 y un disolvente apolar alifático clorado, (ii) eliminar por destilación de la mezcla el disolvente clorado, y (iii) añadir una cantidad adicional de un alcohol de cadena corta C1-C4 y calentar la suspensión formada a la temperatura de reflujo de dicho alcohol, enfriando posteriormente hasta una temperatura igual o inferior a 30°C y procediendo a aislar la Forma A del mesilato de doxazosina mediante su filtración y secado.
