Abstract

La invención se refiere a un proceso para el tratamiento de un mineral de tipo laminar en forma de partículas constituidas de estratificaciones de láminas, para obtener un relleno funcional para un material de polímero. El proceso se caracteriza por el hecho de que el mineral está suspendido en un líquido con un tamaño de partícula inicial predeterminado, después de lo cual la suspensión se expone a un procedimiento de deslaminación para separar la lámina de las partículas u obtener un tamaño de partícula menor que el tamaño de partícula inicial. La suspensión se expone entonces a una selección para eliminar las partículas de tamaño más grande que un tamaño predeterminado; subsecuentemente se seca y las partículas del mineral se trata de manera que se restrinja la creación entre ellas de uniones fuertes irreversibles. El polvo de talco obtenido puede incorporarse en un material termoplástico como relleno funcional para incrementar el módulo de flexión en proporciones significativamente mayores que las que se obtienen con rellenos conocidos, sin disminuir la resistencia a los golpes del material final (con respecto a los valores obtenidos con dichos rellenos conocidos.
