Abstract

El método comprende (a) mezclar el agua a tratar con una disolución que comprende un compuesto de titanio seleccionado entre un compuesto de Ti (IV), un compuesto de Ti (III), y sus mezclas, manteniendo el pH de la mezcla en un valor adecuado para la precipitación in situ del titanio en forma de un compuesto oxigenado de titanio; (b) agitar la mezcla resultante de la etapa (a) durante el periodo de tiempo necesario para permitir la formación de flóculos estables; y (c) separar la materia sólida floculada. Este método permite separar la materia suspendida mediante procesos de coagulación-floculación y la materia disuelta mediante procesos de adsorción e intercambio iónico. De interés en la descontaminación de aguas residuales.
