EL COMPUESTO DEPURADOR DE OXIGENO PUEDE SER UN COMPUESTO DE ASCORBATO O UN QUELATO O COMPLEJO DE ACIDO POLICARBOXILICO O SALICILICO DE UN METAL DE TRANSICION O UNA SAL DEL MISMO. LA COMPOSICION DEPURADORA DE OXIGENO SE ACTIVA PARA DEPURAR EL OXIGENO PONIENDOLA EN CONTACTO CON AGUA O VAPOR DE AGUA QUE PENETRA EN O PASA A TRAVES DEL SOPORTE. SE INCLUYE UN AGENTE CATALIZADOR EN UNA CANTIDAD SUFICIENTE COMO PARA AUMENTAR LA VELOCIDAD DE DEPURACION DEL OXIGENO MEDIANTE EL COMPUESTO DE ASCORBATO, AL TIEMPO QUE SE PUEDE AÑADIR UN AGENTE REDUCTOR PARA AUMENTAR EL RENDIMIENTO DEL QUELATO O COMPLEJO DE ACIDO POLICARBOXILICO O SALICILICO.
