Abstract

PURPOSE: To adsorb and remove cyano complexes or organic cyano compounds from waste water efficiently by adjusting the pH of waste water to 2W4.5 and treating it with active carbon.
CONSTITUTION: Waste water containing cyano complexes or organic cyano compounds is added with an acid or a base to adjust the pH value to 2W4.5, and tewated with active carbon to adsorb and remove the cyano compounds. The compounds are recovered by treating the used active carbon with an aqueous alkaline solution having a pH value above 11.
