EN UN MARGEN DE DETECCION DE TEMPERATURA (T1-T2) EL MATERIAL POLIMERICO TIENE UN COEFICIENTE DE EXPANSION DE CALOR NEGATIVO ((ALFA)0), CUYO VALOR ABSOLUTO ES MAYOR QUE EL COEFICIENTE DE EXPANSION DE CALOR ((ALFA)) EN MARGENES DE TEMPERATURA CIRCUNDANTES (T0-T1, T2-T3). CUANDO ESTA SOMETIDA A UN INCREMENTO DE TEMPERATURA (T), LA CUBIERTA ENTRARA EN CONTACTO Y CAUSARA LA MICROCURVATURA DE LA FIBRA OPTICA. EL RECORRIDO LUMINOSO EN LA FIBRA SE ATENUA Y SE REFLEJA, Y LA LUZ REFLEJADA SE ATENUA AUN MAS EN UN DOMINIO CALENTADO DE LA FIBRA.
