Abstract

Refuse free from metallic bodies is crushed and formed into a homogeneous mixture with at least one powdered mineral material containing calcium oxide in the free or combined state the mixture is formed into compressed bodies which are then heat treated to dry them and increase their hardness, the bodies then being crushed so as to obtain a finely divided material formed of a mixture of granular particles and fibres this material is subjected to an agglomeration treatment to form pellets capable of being used as aggregate in concrete e.g. in a brick or block.
