Abstract
Die Erfindung betrifft eine Festoxidzelle mit einem Elektrolyten (2), wobei auf gegenüberliegenden Seiten des Elektrolyten (2) gasdurchlässige Elektroden (1, 3) angebracht sind, wobei die Brennstoffelektrode (1) Sr2Fe2-xMoxO6-δ oder Sr2Fe2-xMox-yMyO6-δ mit M = Nickel (Ni), und/oder Kobalt (Co), und/oder Titan (Ti), und/oder Mangan (Mn) und/oder Kupfer (Cu) umfasst. Die Erfindung betrifft außerdem ein Verfahren für den Betrieb der Festoxidzelle.
Description
Festoxidelektrolysezelle mit Kathode und Verfahren
Beschreibung
Die Erfindung betrifft eine Festoxidzelle (SOC), zu denen die Festoxidelektrolysezellen (SOECs) gehören. Die Erfindung betrifft außerdem ein Verfahren für den Betrieb der Festoxidzelle.
Eine typische SOC besteht aus einem gasdichten Elektrolyten, der von zwei porösen Elektroden umschlossen wird. Im Elektrolysebetrieb können beispielsweise H2O, CO2 oder eine Gasmischung aus beiden in H2, CO oder Synthesegas umgewandelt werden. Es kann also elektrische Energie in chemische Energie umgewandelt werden.
Es können bei der Benutzung der SOC-Technologie eine Vielzahl von Gasen, wie H2, H2O, CO, CO2, Gase auf Kohlenwasserstoffbasis usw. sowohl im Elektrolyse- als auch im Brennstoffzellenbetrieb verwendet werden.
Es ist Aufgabe der vorliegenden Erfindung, eine SOC weiterzuentwickeln. Insbesondere soll eine leistungsfähige Festoxidelektrolysezelle mit hoher Lebensdauer geschaffen werden.
Die Aufgabe kann durch eine Festoxidzelle mit den Merkmalen des ersten Anspruchs gelöst werden. Ein Verfahren für den Betrieb umfasst die Merkmale des nebengeordneten Anspruchs. Die abhängigen Ansprüche betreffen vorteilhafte Ausgestaltungen.
Zur Lösung der Aufgabe weist eine Festoxidzelle einen Elektrolyten auf, wobei sich auf gegenüberliegenden Seiten des Elektrolyten gasdurchlässige elektrische Leiter als Elektroden bzw. als Anode und Kathode befinden. Im Elektrolysebetrieb wird die Kathode zur Brennstoffreduktion auch Brennstoffelektrode genannt. An der Anode entsteht derweil Sauerstoff, weshalb sie auch Sauerstoffelektrode genannt wird. Die beiden Elektroden können mittelbar oder unmittelbar an dem Elektrolyten angebracht sein.
Die Brennstoffelektrode kann aus Sr2Fe2-xMoxOe-ö bestehen oder Sr2Fe2-xMoxOe-ö umfassen. Die Brennstoffelektrode kann aus Sr2Fe2-xMox.yMyO6-ö mit M = Nickel (Ni), und/oder Kobalt (Co), und/oder Titan (Ti), und/oder Mangan (Mn) und/oder Kupfer (Cu) bestehen, oder Sr2Fe2-xMox.yMyO6-ö umfassen. Die Brennstoffelektrode kann aus Sr2-
zM'zFe2-xMOxO6-ö bestehen oder Sr2-zM'zFe2-xMoxO6-ö umfassen, wobei M‘ = Gd, Nd, Pr, La oder Sm.
Sr2Fe2-xMoxC>6-ö sowie Sr2Fe2-xMox-yMyO6-ö werden nachfolgend auch mit SFM abgekürzt. Zudem kann eine Kompositelektrode aus SFM und einem zweiten Material hergestellt werden.
Mit Brennstoffelektrode ist die Elektrode gemeint, an der im Elektrolysebetrieb ein Brennstoff oder ein anderer Stoff durch Reduktion aus ein oder mehreren Ausgangsstoffen entsteht. Beispielsweise kann Wasserstoff durch Reduktion von Wasserdampf und/oder Kohlenstoffmonoxid aus Kohlenstoffdioxid entstehen. Wird die Festoxidzelle als Elektrolysezelle betrieben, dann ist die Anode die Sauerstoffelektrode.
Im Brennstoffzellenbetrieb wird der Sauerstoffelektrode zur Stromerzeugung ein Sauerstoff haltiges Gas zugeführt.
Die Brennstoffelektrode kann aus nur einer Schicht bestehen. Auch die andere Elektrode kann aus nur einer Schicht bestehen, also aus nur einem Material. Die andere Elektrode wird Sauerstoffelektrode genannt. Die Sauerstoffelektrode und/oder die Brennstoffelektrode können mehr als eine Schicht umfassen. Eine jede Schicht einer Elektrode kann aus mehreren Ausgangsstoffen gebildet worden sein. Die Brennstoffelektrode kann beispielsweise aus einem aus Sr2Fe2-xMoxO6-ö bestehenden Pulver und einem aus einem anderen Ausgangsstoff bestehenden Pulver gefertigt worden sein. Eine jede Schicht einer Elektrode kann also aus einem Verbundwerkstoff bestehen oder einen Verbundwerkstoff umfassen. Eine jede Elektrode kann zunächst aus ein oder mehreren Ausgangsstoffen gefertigt und im Anschluss an diese Fertigung mit einem anderen Stoff dotiert oder infiltriert worden sein.
Die Sauerstoffelektrode und/oder die Brennstoffelektrode können eine Schicht umfassen, die elektrisch leitet und die zusätzlich katalytisch aktiv ist. Es kann in der katalytisch aktiven Schicht eine elektrochemische Reaktion stattfinden. Die elektrochemische Reaktion kann beispielsweise eine Umwandlung von Wasserdampf in Wasserstoff unter Aufnahme von Elektronen sein.
Außerdem können die Sauerstoffelektrode und/oder die Brennstoffelektrode eine elektrisch leitende, poröse Schicht umfassen, die vorteilhaft nicht katalytisch aktiv ist. Zwischen der katalytisch nicht aktiven Schicht und der Elektrolytschicht kann sich die katalytisch aktive Schicht befinden. Es kann so der Materialeinsatz optimiert werden.
Sauerstoffelektrode und/oder Brennstoffelektrode können eine Stromsammlerschicht umfassen. Die Stromsammlerschicht kann eine dritte Schicht einer Elektrode sein. Die Stromsammlerschicht kann weniger gasdurchlässig als die ein oder zwei anderen genannten Schichten sein. Die Stromsammlerschicht kann sich auf der Außenseite einer Elektrode befinden, also maximal entfernt von der Elektrolytschicht. Die Stromsammlerschicht kann beispielsweise aus Gold, Platin oder Nickel bestehen.
Elektroden können nicht nur elektrisch leitend, sondern vorzugsweise auch ionisch leitend sein. Das Material einer Elektrode, die sowohl elektrisch als auch ionisch leitend ist, wird auch MIEC genannt. Das Material kann beispielsweise ein Cermet sein. Das Material kann beispielsweise zwei Phasen umfassen, und zwar eine elektrisch leitende Phase und eine ionisch leitende Phase. Das Material kann beispielsweise ein (misch)leitendes Oxid sein.
Das Symbol "ö" steht für ein Sauerstoffdefizit in dem Material der Elektrode. Es kann also einen Sauerstoffmangel in einer Kristallstruktur des Elektrodenmaterials geben. Dies bedeutet, dass das Material der Elektrode nicht die maximale Anzahl von Sauerstoffatomen enthält, die normalerweise in der chemischen Formel vorgesehen sind.
Mit einer solchen Brennstoffelektrode, die aus Sr2Fe2-xMoxOe-ö besteht oder die zumindest Sr2Fe2-xMoxOe-ö umfasst, kann eine besonders leistungsfähige und besonders langlebige Festoxidzelle geschaffen werden, und zwar insbesondere für einen Einsatz als Elektrolysezelle. Dies gilt auch für eine Brennstoffelektrode, die aus Sr2Fe2-xMox. yMyOe-ö besteht oder die Sr2Fe2-xMox.yMyO6-ö umfasst. x = 0.5 bis 1 hat sich als besonders geeignet herausgestellt, um eine langzeitstabile, leistungsfähige Festoxidzelle erhalten zu können.
Z = 0 bis 0,4 hat sich als besonders geeignet herausgestellt, um eine langzeitstabile, leistungsfähige Festoxidzelle erhalten zu können. Zu bevorzugen ist, dass z > 0 ist.
Es gilt ö > 0. Zu bevorzugen ist, dass ö maximal 1 ist.
Y weniger als 0.5 at-% ist sinnvoll, um eine höhere Leistung erzielen zu können. Y größer als 0.5 ist zwar nicht ausgeschlossen, führt aber zumindest nicht zu einem merklichen Leistungszuwachs und kann auch andere Schwierigkeiten mit sich bringen.
Der Anteil an Sr2Fe2-xMoxOe-ö oder Sr2Fe2-xMox-yMyO6-ö im Material der Brennstoffelektrode oder in einer Schicht der Brennstoffelektrode beträgt vorzugsweise mehr als 50 Gew.-%, um eine langzeitstabile und leistungsfähige Festoxidzelle schaffen zu können. Dieser Anteil an Sr2Fe2-xMoxOe-ö Oder Sr2Fe2-xMox.yMyO6-ö kann zum Beispiel wenigstens 60 Gew.-% betragen.
Der Anteil eines zweiten Stoffes im Material der Brennstoffelektrode, das Sr2Fe2-xMoxOe- 5 oder Sr2Fe2-xMox.yMyO6-ö enthält, bzw. in einer Schicht der Brennstoffelektrode, die Sr2Fe2-xMoxOe-ö oder Sr2Fe2-xMox.yMyO6-ö enthält, kann vorzugsweise bis 30 Gew.-% oder bis 50 Gew.-% betragen, um eine langzeitstabile und leistungsfähige Festoxidzelle schaffen zu können. Mehr als 50 Gew.-% ist regelmäßig technisch nicht sinnvoll.
Als besonders geeigneter zweiter Ausgangsstoff bzw. Stoff kann Gadolinium dotiertes Ceroxid (GDC) ausgewählt worden sein, um eine langzeitstabile und leistungsfähige Festoxidzelle schaffen zu können. Eine solche Brennstoffelektrode oder eine Schicht der Brennstoffelektrode können beispielsweise aus einem aus Sr2Fe2-xMoxOe-ö bestehendem Pulver und aus einem aus GDC bestehendem Pulver gefertigt worden sein. Der Anteil des aus Sr2Fe2-xMoxOe-ö bestehendem Pulver liegt dann bevorzugt bei mehr als 50 Gew.- % und kann beispielsweise wenigstens 70 Gew.-% betragen.
Es ist möglich, dass in der Brennstoffelektrode oder in einer Schicht der Brennstoffelektrode Kobalt, Titan, Mangan, Kupfer und/oder Nickel infiltriert sind. Es ist möglich, dass die Brennstoffelektrode oder eine Schicht der Sauerstoffelektrode mit Kobalt, Titan, Mangan, Kupfer und/oder Nickel dotiert ist. Es kann beispielsweise eine Brennstoffelektrode oder eine Schicht einer Brennstoffelektrode aus Sr2Fe2-xMoxOe-ö oder Sr2Fe2-xMox.yMyO6-ö hergestellt worden sein. Anschließend kann die aus Sr2Fe2- xMoxOe-ö und/oder Sr2Fe2-xMox.yMyO6-ö hergestellte Brennstoffelektrode mit Kobalt, Titan, Mangan, Kupfer und/oder Nickel dotiert oder infiltriert worden sein.
Der Anteil an Kobalt, Titan, Mangan, Kupfer und/oder Nickel in der Brennstoffelektrode bzw. der Schicht der Brennstoffelektrode kann in technisch sinnvollerweise bis zu 40 at.- % oder bis zu bis zu 30 at.-% oder bis zu 50 at.-% betragen. Es können so elektrochemische Eigenschaften einer Brennstoffelektrode weiter verbessert werden. Die Angaben beziehen sich auf die Materialien, die Sr2Fe2-xMoxOe-öOder aus oder Sr2Fe2- XM ox-y MyOe-ö zumindest umfassen.
Zwischen der Brennstoffelektrode und dem Elektrolyten kann sich zur Verbesserung von Eigenschaften der Festoxidzelle eine Barriere befinden. Die Barriere kann
beispielsweise dotiertes Ceroxid aufweisen oder daraus bestehen. Die Barriere kann mit Gadolinium dotiertes Ceroxid (GDC) oder mit Samarinoxid dotiertes Ceroxid (SDC) aufweisen oder daraus bestehen. Die Barriere ist grundsätzlich eine Schicht, die sich zwischen zwei anderen Schichten befindet. Die Dotierung kann wenigstens 10 Gew.-% und/oder bis 20 Gew.-% betragen.
Der Elektrolyt kann aus einem gasdichten, keramischen Werkstoff bestehen, der Sauerstoffionen zumindest bei hinreichend hohen Temperaturen wie zum Beispiel ab 600°C leiten kann und für Elektronen isolierend wirkt.
Der Elektrolyt kann aus Yttrium-stabilisiertem Zirconiumoxid (YSZ) oder aus Scandiumdioxid-stabilisiertes Zirkoniumdioxid (ScSZ) oder aus Samarin- (SDC) bzw. Gadolinium dotiertem Ceroxid (GDC) oder aus Strontium oder aus Magnesium dotiertem Lanthangalliumoxid (LSGM) bestehen oder diese Materialien umfassen.
Zu den typischen Sauerstoff-Elektrodenmaterialien gehören dotierte Perowskite von Lanthaniden wie Sr-dotiertes LaMnOs (LSM), Sr-dotiertes La(Fe,Co)O3 (LSCF) und Sr- dotiertes La(Co)O3 (LSC).
Es kann eine Trennschicht zwischen dem Elektrolyten und der Brennstoffelektrode vorhanden sein. Die Trennschicht kann beispielsweise eine Cerverbindung zwischen dem Elektrolyten und der Brennstoffelektrode sein.
Die Probleme der Langzeitstabilität in SOC Systemen können durch die Implementierung einer elektrisch und vorzugsweise auch ionisch leitenden Brennstoffelektrode, die zumindest Sr2Fe2-xMoxOe-ö zumindest umfasst, behoben oder zumindest verringert werden.
Für Festoxidzellen geeignete Materialien können so ausgewählt werden, dass thermische Ausdehnungskoeffizienten ähnlich sind, um weiter verbessert eine gute Langzeitstabilität zu erzielen. YZS, LSGM oder GDC weisen hinreichend ähnliche thermische Ausdehnungskoeffizienten wie das Material Sr2Fe2-xMoxOe-ö der Sauerstoffelektrode auf. An eine gasdurchlässige Schicht, die Sr2Fe2-xMoxOe-ö umfasst, kann daher an eine Schicht aus YZS, LSGM oder GDC angrenzen, um eine langzeitstabile Festoxidzelle erhalten zu können.
Die Festoxidzelle wird in der Regel bei Temperaturen ab 600°C oderab 650°C betrieben.

Die Festoxidzelle kann plattenförmig sein. Anode, Elektrolyt und Kathode können dann wie ebene Platten geformt sein. An die Anode kann ein Anodenraum grenzen, der von einem an die Kathode grenzenden Kathodenraum getrennt sein kann. Der Anodenraum kann einen Auslass für Gas aufweisen. Der Kathodenraum kann einen Einlass und einen Auslass für Gas aufweisen. Während des Elektrolysebetriebs kann in den Kathodenraum Wasserdampf, Kohlenstoffdioxid, ein Gemisch der beiden Gase und/oder andere Brennstoffe wie N2O mittels des neuen Materials umgesetzt werden können, eingeleitet werden. Der Wasserdampf kann durch den Kathodenraum hindurch entlang der Kathode geleitet werden. Im Anodenraum kann dann Sauerstoff gebildet werden.
Ein zum Beispiel plattenförmiger Interkonnektor kann für ein elektrisches Verbinden von zwei plattenförmigen Festoxidzellen vorhanden sein. Ein Interkonnektor ist ein elektrisch leitendes Verbindungsteil, das aus Metall bestehen kann.
Die Festoxidzelle kann röhrenförmig sein. Beispielsweise kann eine Elektrode ein Rohr sein. Die Außenseite dieser Elektrode kann mit dem Elektrolyten beschichten sein. Die Außenseite des Elektrolyten kann mit der anderen, dann außenliegenden Elektrode beschichtet sein. Ein elektrisch leitender Interkonnektor kann mit der röhrenförmigen, innenliegenden Elektrode verbunden und durch die Beschichtungen hindurch nach außen geführt sein. Der Interkonnektor ist dann von der anderen, außenliegenden Elektrode elektrisch getrennt und berührt die außenliegende Elektrode folglich nicht.
Zur Herstellung der Brennstoffelektrode kann aus Pulvern und organischen Stoffen eine Elektrodenmaterialpaste hergestellt werden. Die kann mittels unterschiedlicher Verfahren, wie zB dem Siebdruck zur Herstellung der Elektrodenschicht verwendet werden.
Die Brennstoffelektrode kann durch Sintern im Hochtemperaturofen aus Pulver hergestellt werden. Nachfolgend wird ein Beispiel für eine Herstellung beschrieben.
Zur Herstellung eines Lao.58Sro.4Coo.2Feo.803-ö-Pulvers für die Sauerstoffelektrode wurde eine modifizierte Pechini-Methode angewandt, bei der zuvor getrocknetes La2Ü3 mit einem Reinheitsgrad von 99 % von der Firma Sigma-Aldrich zu einer Vorläuferpulvermischung hinzugefügt wurde.
Die untersuchten Sr2Fe2-xMoxOe-ö (x = 0,5, 1 ,0) Pulver wurden über die Festkörpersyntheseroute synthetisiert. Pulvervorläufer SrCOs (von der Firma Aldrich, Reinheitsgrad 99 %), Fe2Ü3 (von der Firma Alfa Aesar, Reinheitsgrad 99 %) und MoOs
(von der Firma Alfa Aesar, Reinheitsgrad 99 %) wurden proportional zur gewünschten Stöchiometrie eingewogen und unter Zugabe von Zirkoniumdioxidkugeln und Isopropanol (von der Firma VWR, Reinheitsgrad 99 %) bei 250 U/rnin für 4 h kugelgemahlen. Nach dem Trocknen bei Raumtemperatur wurden die Pulver 8 Stunden lang bei 1100-1200 °C an der Luft geglüht. Um eine mittlere Partikelgröße von 1 pm zu erhalten, wurden die Pulver erneut kugelgemahlen. Das Sr2Fe2MoOe-ö -Pulver wurde in 100 % H2 bei 900 °C 6 Stunden lang reduziert, um ein einphasiges Pulver zu erhalten. Für die SFMx-GDC-Verbundwerkstoffe wurde handelsübliches Ceo,8Gdo,20i,9-Pulver (von der Firma SOFCMAN, Reinheitsgrad 99,5 %) verwendet, wobei SFMx und GDC in einem Gewichtsverhältnis von 7:3 gemischt, in Aceton gemahlen und über Nacht getrocknet wurden.
Die Pulvermischung wurde dann 10 Minuten lang bei 1200 U/min kugelgemahlen. Die entsprechenden Aufschlämmungen wurden durch Mischen der Pulver mit einer Lösung aus Terpineol und 3 % Ethylcellulose im Gewichtsverhältnis 1 :1 hergestellt. Elektrolytgestützte Knopfzellen SFMx(-GDC)|GDC|8YSZ|GDC|LSCF wurden durch Siebdruck der vorbereiteten Schlämme auf handelsübliche 250 pm dicke 8YSZ- Elektrolyte (von der Firma Kerafol GmbH, Eschenbach in der Oberpfalz, Deutschland) hergestellt. Die GDC-Barriereschichten wurden bei 1350 °C für 2 h in Luft gebrannt. Die SFMx-GDC-Brennstoffelektrode wurde bei 1150 °C und die LSCF-Sauerstoffelektrode bei 1080°C für 3 Stunden an Luft gesintert. Eine Goldkontaktschicht von 5 pm (von der Firma Heraeus GmbH, Hanau, Deutschland) wurde hinzugefügt, um einen akzeptablen Zellkontakt mit dem Stromkollektor zu gewährleisten. Darüber hinaus wurde das Sr2Fe2MoOe-ö -Material durch Substitution des Molybdäns mit Ni, Co, Cu, Ti und Mn modifiziert und auf die gleiche Weise wie oben beschrieben hergestellt. Es wurden die Perowskit-Oxide Sr2Fe2-xMox-yMyO6-ö (wobei M = Ni, Co, Cu, Ti oder Mn) gemischt und mit sowie ohne GDC als Brennstoffelektroden-Materialien getestet. Es wurden sehr hohe elektrochemische Leistungen und außergewöhnlich niedrige Degradationsraten, insbesondere unter CO2-Elektrolysebedingungen, im Vergleich zu modernsten Ni-YSZ- Brennstoffelektroden sowie zu mehreren kürzlich entwickelten Brennstoffelektroden- Materialien nachgewiesen.
Es ist zu beobachten, dass die Brennstoffelektroden mit S^Fei.sMoo.sOe-ö und Sr2FeiMoo,65Nio.3s06-ö die Leistung von Ni-YSZ unabhängig von der Gasatmosphäre übertreffen. Für 80% CO2 + 20% CO bei 900 °C erreichen Zellen mit Ni-YSZ eine Stromdichte von -0.63 A cm2 bei 1.5 V, während SFM Stromdichten von -1 .08 A cm2 bis -1 .23 A cm2 aufweist. Damit wird bei der CO2-Elektrolyse der Stand der Technik von Ni-
YSZ um rund 50 % übertroffen. Langzeittests unter konstanter Strombelastung von -0.3 A cm-2 bei 900 °C für bis zu 500 Stunden sind in Abbildung 2 dargestellt. Im Vergleich zu den modernen Ni-Cermet-Brennstoffelektroden zeigen die SFM- basierten Materialien eine geringere Degradation.
Es wurden Perowskit-Oxide Sr2Fe2-xMoxOe-öOder Sr2Fe2-xMox.yMyO6-ö mit M = M = Nickel (Ni), und/oder Kobalt (Co), und/oder Titan (Ti), und/oder Mangan (Mn) und/oder Kupfer (Cu) hergestellt und untersucht. Beispielsweise wurden folgende Materialien synthetisiert und genau untersucht: S^FeMoOe-ö (Sr2Fei.oMoi.oOe-ö), S^Fei.sMoo.sOe-ö, Sr2FeMoO6-0-Ce0.9Gd0.1O19, Sr2Fe1.5Mo0.5O6-0-Ce0.9Gd0.1O19 sowie Sr2FeMoo.65Nio.3s06-ö.
Die Festoxidzelle dient insbesondere als Festoxidelektrolysezelle. Während des Betriebs sind die Elektroden der Festoxidelektrolysezelle dann mit einer Gleichstromquelle verbunden. Es werden dadurch besonders große Vorteile im Vergleich zum Stand der Technik erzielt.

In der Figur 1 werden an die Elektroden von Festoxidelektrolysezellen angelegte Spannungen und die resultierenden Stromdichten in Abhängigkeit von der angelegten Spannung gezeigt. Die Figur 1 zeigt ermittelte Strom-Spannungskennlinien von Festoxidelektrolysezellen mit unterschiedlichen Brennstoffelektroden. Dabei verdeutlichen die Kennlinien die Beziehung zwischen Zellpotential und erreichter Stromspannung durch Änderung des Potentials und der Messung der Stromantwort bezogen auf die katalytisch aktive Fläche. Daraus folgt, dass ein Vergleich der Materialien der Festoxidelektrolysezellen an einem Spannungspunkt von z. B. 1.5 V auch ein Vergleich der erfolgten Leistung pro Fläche ist.
Gemäß Figur 1 weist die Ni-YSZ Standard-Brennstoffelektrode eine Leistung von - 0.63 A cnv2 in der CO2 Elektrolyse auf (rechts in der Figur 1 gezeigt). Die Brennstoffelektroden mit den Materialien S^FeMoOe-ö, S^Fei.sMoo.sOe-ö, und das
Komposit-Material Sr2FeMoO6-0-Ce0.9Gd0.1O19 zeigen eine höhere Leistung mit Stromdichten von jeweils -1.10 A CHT2, -1.08 A cm-2 und -1.10 A CHT2 (weiter links von Ni-YSZ aus gesehen gezeigt). Die Komposit-Elektrode Ni-GDC ist eine alternative zu Ni- YSZ und wird heutzutage mehrfach bereits in Forschungsstudien eingesetzt. Eine industrielle Nutzung als Ersatz zu Ni-YSZ hat sich noch nicht durchgesetzt. Dieses Material zeichnet sich durch eine höhere katalytische Leistung als Ni-YSZ aus (- 1.14 A cm’2, Figur 1 , links von den zuvor genannten Materialien gezeigt). Zudem handelt es sich bei GDC, wie auch bei SFM um ein Material mit gemischt ionisch und elektronisch leitenden Eigenschaften (MIEC). Bei MIEC-Materialien laufen die elektrochemischen Reaktionen über die Dreiphasengrenze hinaus an der gesamten Materialienoberfläche ab. Die Materialien Sr2Fe1.5Mo0.5O6-0-Ce0.9Gd0.1O19 und S^FeMoo.esNio.ssOe-ö in Figur 1 übertreffen Ni-GDC mit jeweils mit -1 .22 A cm’2 und -1 .23 A cm’2 (auf der linken Seite in Figur 1 gezeigt).
Die Strom-Spannungskurven verdeutlichen, dass SFM-Materialien für CO2 Elektrolyse das industriell angewendete Ni-YSZ, sowie das noch leistungsfähigere Ni-GDC in der erreichten Stromdichte übertreffen.
Mikrostrukturelle Veränderung der Ni-haltigen Elektroden Ni-YSZ und Ni-GDC führen unter längeren Betriebsbedingungen zu einem Leistungsverlust der Zellen, woraus ein Anstieg des Zellpotentials resultiert. Betriebsparametern wie Stromdichte, Gaszusammensetzung, Temperatur und lokales Redoxpotential beeinflussen die Zellalterung.
In den Figuren 2 und 3 wird die Langzeitstabilität von SFM Brennstoffelektroden unter Messbedingungen zwischen 500 h und 1000 h verdeutlicht. Bei einer Stromdichte von - 300 mA crn-2 weist Sr2FeMoO6-0-Ce0.9Gd0.1O19 einen linearen Verlauf auf mit einer Potentialzunahme von 4 mV. S^FeMoOe-ö und S^Fei.sMoo.sOe-ö dagegen zeigen eine Potentialabnahme in den ersten Tagen, was auf eine Aktivierung des Materials hinweist und einen gesamten Potentialzuwachs von 1 mV bzw. 0.12 mV. Der Langzeitstabilitätstest von S^FeMoo.esNio.ssOe-ö bei einer Stromdichte von -500 mA crn-2 über 1000 h Messzeit verdeutlicht diesen Trend und nimmt über die gesamte Zeit 9 mV kh-1 ab. Im Vergleich, Zellen mit Ni-GDC Brennstoffelektroden haben unter den gleichen Messbedingungen 31 mV kh-1 zugenommen.
Die Ergebnisse bezüglich Initialleistung und Langzeitstabilität unter realen Nutzungsbedingungen von SFM Brennstoffelektroden zeigt, dass sie das industriell verwendete Ni-YSZ und das häufig eingesetzte Ni-GDC übertreffen.
In der Figur 4 wird ein Beispiel für den Aufbau und den Betrieb einer Festoxidelektrolysezelle mit einer Sauerstoffelektrode 1 , einem Elektrolyten 2 und einer Brennstoffelektrode 3 im Schnitt gezeigt. Der Elektrolyt 2 befindet sich zwischen der Sauerstoffelektrode 1 und der Brennstoffelektrode 3. An die Sauerstoffelektrode 1 grenzt ein Sauerstoffelektrodenraum 4. Der Sauerstoffelektrodenraum 4 weist einen Auslass 5 für Sauerstoff auf. An die Brennstoffelektrode 3 grenzt ein Brennstoffelektrodenraum 6. Der Brennstoffelektrodenraum 6 weist einen Einlass 7 für ein Sauerstoff haltiges Gas wie zum Beispiel Wasserdampf auf. Der Brennstoffelektrodenraum 6 weist einen Auslass 8 für überschüssiges Gas auf. Im Brennstoffelektrodenraum 6 entsteht durch Elektrolyse ein Brennstoff wie zum Beispiel Wasserstoff. Die Elektroden sind mit einer Gleichstromquelle 9 verbunden.
Claims
1. Festoxidzelle mit einem Elektrolyten (2), wobei auf gegenüberliegenden Seiten des Elektrolyten (2) gasdurchlässige Elektroden (1 , 3) angebracht sind, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die Brennstoffelektrode (1) Sr2Fe2-xMoxOe-ö oder Sr2Fe2-xMox. yMyOe-ö mit M = Nickel (Ni), und/oder Kobalt (Co), und/oder Titan (Ti), und/oder Mangan (Mn) und/oder Kupfer (Cu) oder Sr2-zM'zFe2-xMoxO6-ö wobei M‘ = Gd, Nd, Pr, La oder Sm umfasst.
2. Festoxidzelle nach dem vorhergehenden Anspruch, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass x = 0.5 bis 1 ist und/oder z = 0 bis 0,4.
3. Festoxidzelle nach einem der vorhergehenden Ansprüche, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass der Anteil an Sr2Fe2-xMoxOe-ö oder Sr2Fe2-xMox.yMyO6-ö im Material der Brennstoffelektrode oder in einer Schicht der Brennstoffelektrode mehr als 50 Gew.- % beträgt.
4. Festoxidzelle nach dem vorhergehenden Anspruch, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass der Anteil an einem zweiten Stoff im Material der Brennstoffelektrode oder in einer Schicht der Brennstoffelektrode bis zu 30 Gew.-% beträgt, wobei das Material bzw. die Schicht Sr2Fe2-xMoxOe-ö oder Sr2Fe2-xMox.yMyO6-ö umfasst.
5. Festoxidzelle nach dem vorhergehenden Anspruch, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass Gadolinium dotiertes Ceroxid als zweiter Stoff vorhanden ist.
6. Festoxidzelle nach einem der vorhergehenden Ansprüche, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass in der Brennstoffelektrode Kobalt, Titan, Mangan oder Kupfer und/oder Nickel infiltriert sind.

Festoxidzelle nach dem vorhergehenden Anspruch, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass der Anteil an Kobalt, Titan, Mangan oder Kupfer und/oder Nickel bis zu 40 at.-% oder bis zu bis zu 30 at.-% beträgt, und zwar bezogen auf das Material der Brennstoffelektrode, das Sr2Fe2-xMoxOe-ö oder aus oder Sr2Fe2-xMox.yMyO6-ö zumindest umfasst.
8. Festoxidzelle nach einem der vorhergehenden Ansprüche, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass sich zwischen der Brennstoffelektrode (1) und dem Elektrolyten (2) eine Barriere befindet.
9. Festoxidzelle nach dem vorhergehenden Anspruch, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die Barriere mit Gadolinium dotiertes Ceroxid (GDC) oder mit Samarinoxid dotiertes Ceroxid (SDC) aufweist.
10. Festoxidzelle nach dem vorhergehenden Anspruch, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die Barriere mit 10 Gew.-% bis 20 Gew.-% dotiert ist.
11 . Festoxidzelle nach einem der vorhergehenden Ansprüche, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die Brennstoffelektrode (1) kein Nickel umfasst oder der Anteil an Nickel maximal 5 Gew.-% beträgt.
12. Festoxidzelle nach einem der vorhergehenden Ansprüche, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass der Elektrolyt (2) aus einem gasdichten keramischen Werkstoff besteht, der Sauerstoffionen leiten kann und für Elektronen isolierend wirkt.
13. Festoxidzelle nach dem vorhergehenden Anspruch, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass der Elektrolyt aus Yttrium-stabilisiertem Zirconiumoxid (YSZ) oder aus Strontium und Magnesium dotiertem Lanthangalliumoxid (LSGM) oder aus mit Gadolinium dotiertem Ceroxid (GDC) besteht.
14. Festoxidzelle nach einem der vorhergehenden Ansprüche, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass ö nicht größer als 1 ist.
15. Verfahren für eine Festoxidzelle nach einem der vorhergehenden Ansprüche, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die Festoxidzelle bei einer Temperatur betrieben wird, die zwischen 600°C bis 900°C liegt.
16. Verfahren nach dem vorhergehenden Anspruch, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass eine Elektrolyse durchgeführt wird.
17. Verfahren nach dem vorhergehenden Anspruch, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass eine CO2 Elektrolyse durchgeführt wird.
