Definitions

  • the field of the invention is that of packaging.
  • the invention relates more particularly to a packaging module having several walls intended to cooperate with a pallet so as to form a packaging container for various goods in order to provide them with protection during transport.
  • pallet boxes conventionally comprise two distinct parts, namely a pallet and a container made of a semi-rigid material.
  • the container has a bottom which rests on this pallet and is able to be folded flat on the upper face of the latter. This arrangement makes it possible to handle the full or empty crate, using fork handling devices.
  • these pallet boxes are generally made with folding honeycomb polypropylene or injected plastic panels with integrated hinges and locks, and have very good foldability to optimize empty returns.
  • the invention meets these needs by proposing a packaging module intended to cooperate with a pallet having an upper tray for receiving goods and several open inlets for the insertion of handling means each defined between the upper tray and a lower sole intended to rest on the ground, the packaging module comprising a belt of removable walls intended to be mounted around the pallet and to surround this last and its loading without resting on the plate so as to form a packaging container, the packaging module having means for retaining the belt of walls on the pallet intended to be housed in the open entrances of the pallet, and to come into contact with the plate or a sole of the pallet when the wall belt or the pallet is lifted respectively
  • the pallet acts as a bottom for the packaging container, the walls of the packaging module when they are mounted coming to wrap or encircle the pallet and its load, without resting on the reception plate of the pallet, which allows the maintenance of the volume in relation to the useful surface of the pallet. Indeed, once the walls of the module are installed around the pallet and its possible load, we have the entire surface of the pallet and consequently the related volume, since none of the walls rests on the plate of the palette.
  • the retaining means can take different forms and constitute an anti-lifting system, preventing the wall module from being lifted alone and linking the pallet to the wall module when the latter is lifted.
  • the retaining means mean that the wall module is also lifted and the assembly remains attached (thus the pallet does not rise inside the wall module).
  • the means for retaining said belt of walls comprising folded tabs which are housed in the open inlets.
  • the belt of walls consists of two side walls connected by a bottom wall by means of first connection means and of a front wall connected by second connection means to the side walls .
  • the second connecting means comprise: - knuckles carried by the two opposite side edges of the facade and the free edge of each of the side walls, and - two connecting rods coming from slip on/engage the interlocking knuckle of the side walls and the facade.
  • the nested knuckles of the side walls and of the facade form a trapezoidal-shaped passage channel for a rod of corresponding shape.
  • connection means comprise means for tensioning the belt of walls around the pallet.
  • the conditioning module further comprises a cap intended to be positioned on top of the belt of walls and arranged to cover the rods.
  • the cap can be secured to the belt of walls by locking means.
  • the packaging module further comprises an access opening to the contents of the container intended to be closed off by a movable closure panel mounted on two rows of hinges and means for locking the closure panel. in the closing position of the opening.
  • the closure panel mounted on two rows of hinges and the locking means allow, on the one hand, repeated opening and closing of the panel with one hand in an outdoor environment (this improves delivery ergonomics) and, on the other hand, secures the content against bad weather and break-ins.
  • the cover is foldable so as to form a "U"-shaped support, the folded walls of the belt and the front being intended to be housed in the "U"-shaped support formed by the cap in the folded position.
  • the packaging module further comprises one or more devices for wedging and managing the dimensional deviations of the pallet arranged on one or more of the inner faces of the walls of the module and/or on at least one folded legs.
  • the invention also relates to a packaging container comprising a pallet having an upper plate for receiving goods and several open inlets for the insertion of handling means each defined between the upper plate and a sole bottom intended to rest on the ground, and - a packaging module as described above comprising a belt of removable walls mounted around the pallet and surrounding the latter and its load without resting on the platform so as to form a packaging container, the packaging module having means for retaining the belt of walls on the pallet which is housed in the open entrances of the pallet, and intended to come into contact with the plate or a sole of the pallet when the belt of walls or the pallet is raised respectively.
  • the solution presented makes it possible to transform a pallet 1, already loaded with goods or not, into a container or container 100 for packaging.
  • the container 100 is formed of a pallet 1 of rectangular shape and a packaging module consisting of several walls which surround the pallet 1 without resting on the plate of the pallet 1.
  • the wall module comes in a kit for assembly.
  • the pallet 1 is here a wooden pallet having an upper face forming a tray 10 intended to support the goods, two flanges 10 'extending parallel on the opposite longitudinal edges of the pallet and intended to rest on the ground, and, between the plate 10 and each sole 10' or the ground, passages for inserting handling means.
  • the pallet 1 is here of the EURO type and has two entries 11 open in length and two entries 12 open in width ( figure 2 ), i.e. four possible entries for the insertion of the handling means.
  • the inlets 12 of the opposite longitudinal edges of the pallet extend between a base plate 10' of the pallet and the platform or tray 10 of the pallet intended to support goods.
  • the entrances 11 of the opposite transverse edges of the pallet extend between the ground and the plate 10 of the pallet.
  • the container 100 is parallelepipedic in shape and has four side faces 22, 23, 24, 25 forming, once assembled together, a belt of walls around the pallet 1.
  • the container further comprises a bottom formed by the upper face 10 of the pallet 1 and possibly a cap 21 surmounting the belt of walls 22, 23, 24, 25 ( figure 5 ).
  • the cap 21 has a hinged flap intended to close off an opening 215, 235 for access to the contents of the container 100 ( figure 6 ). This opening 215, 235 extends at right angles both on the top of the container 100 and on the front face of the latter.
  • the container 100 has a rear wall 25 of rectangular shape of width substantially equal to the length of the pallet 1, a right side wall 24 of rectangular shape of width substantially equal to that of the pallet 1 and a left side wall 22 of rectangular shape. of width substantially equal to that of the pallet 1 and of dimensions equal to the right side wall 24 ( figure 1 ).
  • the side walls 22, 24 are connected to the rear wall 25 by means of first connection means here taking the form of vertical fold lines.
  • the side walls 22, 24 can be connected to the rear wall 25 by hinges or any other articulation system.
  • the front 23 is of the same width as the rear wall 25 but of lower height.
  • the facade 23 could however have the same height as the rear wall 25.
  • the facade 23 has a solid rectangular wall 234 on its lower part, up to mid-height in this example, and a cutout 235 on its upper part of the general shape of an isosceles trapezoid. On either side of this cutout 235 extend two uprights 232, 233 of generally rectangular triangle shape ( figure 3 And 4 ).
  • the cutout 235 and the uprights 232, 233 could have other geometric shapes.
  • the facade 23 may not have a cutout (such a cutout could rather be provided on one or more of the side walls 22, 24 and rear 25).
  • the facade 23 is connected by second connecting means to the side walls 22, 24.
  • the front 23 has on its two opposite side edges staples forming knuckles 231 spaced at regular intervals or not (there are six knuckles on each side of the front in the example shown) and feet 236, 237 in the lower right and left part.
  • the left and right side walls 22, 24 of the container 100 each have on their free vertical edge staples forming knuckles 221, 241 respectively which are spaced at regular intervals or not (there are five knuckles on each side in the example shown) .
  • the rear wall 25 has a foot 256, 257 at each of its lower corners ( figure 1 ).
  • Side wall 22 has a foot 222, 223 at each of its bottom corners and side wall 24 has a foot 242, 243 at each of its bottom corners.
  • the height of the feet of the different walls corresponds substantially to the height of pallet 1.
  • the front 23 and the side walls 22, 24 of the belt are connected by these junction clips forming knuckles.
  • the knuckles 231 of one edge of the facade 23 are each intended to be housed between two consecutive knuckles of one of the side walls 22, 24 (the knuckles 221 for example) which are oriented in the opposite direction and offset so that the knuckles 221, 231 and 221, 241 respectively are nested with each other ( figure 4 And 5 ).
  • These aligned knuckles form a passage channel in which can slide a rod or a pin for tensioning and locking the walls together, referenced 3 on the figure 8 .
  • Two rods 3 threaded through all of the interlocking knucklebones make it possible to join the facade 23 to the two side walls 22, 24 ( figure 9 ).
  • the rods 3 and the passage channel forming a slide being trapezoidal in shape, this also ensures the tensioning of the entire belt of walls 22, 23, 24, 25 and the adjustment of these walls 22, 23, 24 , 25 around pallet 1.
  • a locking and tensioning system for the walls of the belt could be implemented using lever closures (snaps), straps, a rotation eccentric system or any other solution well known to those skilled in the art.
  • the means for connecting the facade 23 with the side walls 22, 24 may not implement means for tensioning the entire belt of walls 22, 23, 24, 25.
  • the rear wall 25, the front 23 and the two side walls 22, 24 could be four independent walls capable of being connected together during assembly.
  • the belt of walls could be formed according to another approach by two assemblies each consisting of two walls from among the rear wall 25, the front 23 and the two side walls 22, 24 which are interconnected during assembly. These walls are removable and can therefore be separated, one by one for example.
  • the belt of the container is here made up of the "U” shaped element (side walls 22, 24 and rear wall 25) and of the front 23, and extends around the plate of the pallet 1.
  • the "U” shaped element » and the facade form the vertical walls of the box.
  • the rods for tensioning and locking the belt of the container around the pallet slide into the slide formed by the front and the belt.
  • the system for tensioning the rear wall 25, the front 23 and the two side walls 22, 24 around the pallet makes it possible to compensate for the tolerance differences of the pallet.
  • the cap 21 is made in three parts, respectively 211, 212, 213 interconnected by two rows of hinges 216, 217.
  • the part 212 consists of two sub-parts at an angle right.
  • the cap 21 comprises a fixed panel 211 which extends between the side walls 22, 24 on the side of the rear wall 25 and an opening made up of two hinged panels 212, 213, the opening being arranged on the side of the facade 23.
  • the cover 21 has two rows of hinges 216, 217, in order to allow the opening of the container 100, but also in order to allow the cover 21 to be folded into a U to hold together the walls 22, 24, 25 forming the U-shaped element. of the belt of walls and the facade 23 bent.
  • the cap 21 allows an operator to access the interior volume of the container, without necessarily removing the cap 21, in order to deposit or withdraw goods.
  • the wall module has means for retaining the module on the pallet once this module has been deployed around the pallet and surrounding the latter.
  • These retaining means can take different forms and constitute an anti-lifting system, preventing the wall module from being lifted alone and linking the pallet to the wall module when the latter is lifted ( figure 7 ).
  • the front 23 has two folded tabs 239 ( picture 3 ) towards its inner side (the one oriented towards the pallet) forming retaining means which each come to be housed in one of the two inlets 12 open in width of the longitudinal edge of the pallet 1 against which the facade 23 ( figure 4 ).
  • the rear wall 25 also has along its lower edge several folded tabs or returns 252, 253, 254 towards its inner side (the one oriented towards the pallet) coming to be housed under the plate 10 of the pallet 1, by one of the entrances 12 open in width ( figure 1 ) of the other longitudinal edge of the pallet 1 against which the rear wall 25 is arranged.
  • these folded tabs 239, 252, 253, 254 which extend under the plate 10 of the pallet 1 are pressed against the lower surface of the plate 10 of the pallet 1 when the wall module is raised. Therefore, a lifting of the wall module causes the lifting of the pallet 1.
  • the folded tabs of the front 23 and the rear wall 25 arranged under the tray 10 of the pallet prevent the wall module from being lifted and separated from the pallet (the wall module is integral with the pallet since the folded legs are slid under the pallet by the entrances 12 open in width).
  • Two folded tabs 255 forming complementary retaining means are each carried by a support foot 258 located in the lower right and left part of the rear wall 25 (a single support foot is visible on the figure 1 ). These two support feet 258 are intended to rest on the ground.
  • the folded legs 255 here extend towards the pallet, in a plane parallel to the plane of the folded legs or returns 252, 253, 254, as seen on the figure 1 And 7 , and each come to be housed in one of the two inlets 12 open in width of a longitudinal edge of the pallet 1.
  • Each of the two feet 236, 237 of the front 23 has a folded or return leg 238, forming retaining means, intended to be housed under the plate 10 of the pallet 1, by one of the entrances 12 open in width.
  • the two soles 10 'of the latter come into contact with the folded legs 238, 255 ( figure 7 ) and thereby the wall module is also lifted.
  • the folded tabs 238, 255 forming retaining means mean that the module is also lifted and the assembly remains attached (the pallet does not rise inside the module).
  • pairs of legs 254, 255 or 238, 239 can be replaced by a single leg of suitable size so that, when the pallet is lifted, the module also lifts, and vice versa.
  • One or more retaining bars can thus be inserted into the insertion passages of the pallet handling means and are fixed for example by means of latches on the front and rear walls of the module, or on the side walls, in order to to secure the pallet to the module.
  • This container for the storage and transport of goods is removable and collapsible in a compact way to occupy a minimum of space when not in use (during storage or transport). It is also reusable.
  • the unfolding of the container as described in relation to the appended figures is carried out as follows. First of all, the user pivots the three panels forming the side and rear walls 22, 24, 25 in order to position them vertically in a “U”. The operator then surrounds the pallet 1 on three of its sides with the "U” thus formed. He then places the facade 23 and pushes the rods 3 in the trapezoidal guides formed by the knuckles in order to put all the walls in tension. Then, he comes to put the headdress on the whole.
  • a first locking system composed for example of one or more spring-loaded latches, makes it possible to hold the cap on the belt of walls.
  • a second locking system composed for example of one or more latches, and placed between the cap and the front, ensures the secure closure of the container. Once the cover is closed, it covers the two rods 3 and prevents access to and removal of these rods 3 as is visible on the figure 5 in particular, so as to secure access to the container.
  • the panel 212 of the cover carries a bracket 2121 on each of its two side edges, these two brackets 2121 being intended to cover the end of the rods 3 in the closed position of the cover ( figure 5 ).
  • assembly is done by successive assembly of the belt of walls around the pallet, unlike the prior art which requires threading the belt of walls from above onto the pallet and its load.
  • the assembly of the various elements of the container makes it possible to protect the goods on the pallet from break-ins and from the external environment (bad weather, projections, etc.).
  • the container opens thanks to a hinged opening.
  • the sash can be kept in the open position to protect the operator and the goods from the weather, for example using friction hinges.
  • the sash closes with one hand by snapping and does not require the use of a key for closing.
  • the opening kinematics of the sash thus allows easy opening and one-handed closing.
  • opening could be carried by the facade rather than the cap in a variant.
  • the container once assembled is rigid and light.
  • the wall module can be used without the cover as an open container (in belt configuration).
  • the different elements of the module are independent.
  • the different elements of the module are designed to be handled by a single operator.
  • the module can be installed around the pallet and removed from the pallet by a single operator.
  • the operator opens the spring locks then lifts the cover 21.
  • the cover is placed on the ground and folded up so as to form a "U" support thanks to the two rows of hinges 216, 217 connecting its various panels articulated 211, 212, 213 ( figure 11 ).
  • the operator removes the two rods 3 so that he can remove the front.
  • the operator can remove and fold the side and rear walls 22, 24, 25 into a wallet.
  • the side and rear walls 22, 24, 25 and the front interlock to be housed in the "U” formed by the cover 21 folded in order to form a compact assembly ( figure 12 ).
  • the assembly is held in place by an integrated strap system.
  • the panel 212 of the cover being at right angles in a rigid and unhinged manner, the “U”-shaped support is thus provided with a large flat surface in contact with the ground.
  • the folded assembly makes it possible to reduce the bulk of the module when empty. You can place several modules folded side by side vertically on a European pallet (five for example).
  • the wall module can be adapted to a 120x80 EPAL pallet (by modifying its dimensions, it can be adapted to other formats, but a module format corresponds to a standard pallet format) which makes it intermodal.
  • the wall module can be placed on an already loaded pallet without the need for unloading.
  • the wall module is compatible with the internal dimensions of the loading space of transport vehicles in the existing logistics chain, and in particular trucks and semi-trailers, and with the usual handling tools.
  • the wall module can compensate for the tolerance differences accepted by the EPAL standard ( +/- 3 mm) or another standard.
  • Each wall of the module is here formed of a honeycombed polypropylene sidewall and a peripheral metal frame. These walls can be formed by thermoformed or injected panels according to other approaches.
  • the module is foldable, in order to minimize its empty space. Folded up, the four parts of the module described here fit together to minimize its empty space and facilitate storage of the assembly.
  • the module allows the installation of a pallet on its upper face and thus lends itself to stacking.
  • the panel 212 of the cap 21 carries two brackets 2120 for maintaining a pallet placed on the cap 21 and the panel 211 also carries two brackets 2110 for holding a pallet placed on the cap 21.
  • the brackets 2110, 2120 located at the four corners of the upper face of the module ( figure 5 ) make it easy to position and hold another pallet on the container.
