Definitions
- the invention relates to a window that is preferably designed to be openable, i.e. in particular window glazing which comprises multiple glazing which has two opposite outer glass surfaces and at least one support element which (each) offers a receptacle in which the multiple glazing is accommodated and held is.
- window glazing which comprises multiple glazing which has two opposite outer glass surfaces and at least one support element which (each) offers a receptacle in which the multiple glazing is accommodated and held is.
- the window can be designed, for example, as a parallel opening, projecting top-hung, folding or punched window or also as a door, in particular as a sliding door, or also as fixed glazing.
- the invention also relates to a method for installing such a (preferably openable) window in a building.
- the window again has multiple glazing with two opposite outer glass surfaces and at least one support element, the latter being/is supported by the multiple glazing.
- windows of this type are often used as outside windows in buildings, they typically have very complex multiple glazing, which offers high thermal insulation.
- the innermost and the outermost pane of glass are often designed as laminated safety glass (LSG), which in turn consists of two panes of glass that are laminated directly to one another using a PVB film.
- LSG laminated safety glass
- Such a complex structure of multiple glazing leads to excellent thermal insulation; however, such multiple glazing is subject to considerable fluctuations in thickness.
- Typical thickness tolerances of multiple glazing are about +/- 1-2 mm, depending on the exact structure; with window lengths of a few meters, however, length fluctuations of the multiple glazing can also amount to 1 to 4 mm.
- the support profile offers a receptacle with a fixed internal dimension, in which the multiple glazing is to be mounted in a sealed manner, which is usually achieved by gluing.
- the multiple glazing has hitherto been attached to the receptacle by means of an initially liquid adhesive layer glued into the support profile, whereby silicone adhesive (SSG - structural silicone glazing) is often used for this purpose.
- Such a type of bonding can, on the one hand, absorb static loads; on the other hand, the thickness of the liquid adhesive layer automatically adapts to the remaining gap between the inside of the support profile and the respective outer glass surface (left and right) of the multiple glazing. As a result, the thickness tolerance mentioned can be compensated for and a good seal between the support profile and multiple glazing can be achieved.
- the liquid adhesive layer only develops its full adhesive and load-bearing capacity after a longer period of approx. 24 hours. For this reason, the windows and support profile have so far been pre-assembled, stored in a hall overnight and then repackaged in a pre-assembled state and transported to the construction site in order to be installed in a building on the spot.
- the features of claim 1 are provided according to the invention in an openable window.
- the at least one support element has two adjustable jaws, the spacing of which defines an adjustable internal dimension of the receptacle and that the jaws are also glued to the glass surfaces.
- a window designed according to the invention can therefore have a support element designed in this way or else several such support elements.
- each of these supporting elements embrace a corresponding outer edge of the multiple glazing.
- the advantage of this proposed solution is that the recording can be adapted to different thicknesses of the multiple glazing.
- the invention can also be used advantageously when the thickness of the multiple glazing turns out to be comparatively constant.
- the adjustability of the jaws can be designed in such a way that the jaws can each perform an axial infeed movement perpendicular to the glass surface.
- This axial feed movement allows (unlike the previously known stationary mounts, where the multiple glazing must be inserted into the mount in the plane of the pane) that the jaws can be provided with an adhesive layer of constant thickness, which are then brought into contact by the feed movement can with the respective glass surface.
- the invention provides in particular that such thickness variations are compensated for by adjusting the distance between the two jaws, while the thickness of the adhesive layer can remain constant .
- the support element ie in particular the two support profiles mentioned
- the support element can be fastened to different outer edges of the window.
- the window is designed, for example, as a frameless sliding door on the top and bottom
- the support element can be mounted on the multiple glazing of the window, for example on the left or right vertical outer edge (depending on the opening direction) using the adhesive tape.
- the multiple glazing of the window can have, for example, at least two, preferably three, glass panes thermally insulated from one another by means of enclosed gas volumes (in particular an inner, middle and outer glass pane).
- enclosed gas volumes in particular an inner, middle and outer glass pane.
- the inside and outside glass pane can be configured as laminated safety glass (VSG) or, for example, as toughened safety glass (ESG), as is usual in the prior art.
- glass pane is to be understood functionally here; the glass panes can be made of quartz glass or plastic, for example.
- the window is also to be understood functionally here.
- the window can be designed as a hinged window, in particular a parallel hinged window, as a projecting top-hung, hinged or punched window or also as a door, in particular as a sliding door.
- the window it is also possible to construct the window as a pivoting, turning, rotating or tilting sash, or for example as a folding wall section, the list being to be understood only as an example and the present invention also extends to other types of windows known in the prior art is applicable, which are installed in buildings. So it can be provided in particular that the window as a sliding door or is designed as a hinged window or as a pivoting window or pivoting door or reversible wing.
- the window can be at least partially frameless and/or movably guided, i.e. in particular slidably guided (for example in the case of a sliding door), suspended or set up (for example on a carriage provided with rollers).
- the object can also be achieved by further advantageous embodiments.
- the above approach according to the invention can advantageously be combined with an adhesive tape technique.
- the jaws described above are each glued to the glass surfaces by means of an adhesive tape.
- These adhesive tapes can preferably have an adhesive layer of constant thickness.
- the adhesive tape can preferably be in the form of a double-sided adhesive tape (preferably provided with a removable protective film). It makes sense here to pre-assemble the adhesive tape on the support element.
- an intermediate layer e.g. made of foam
- an intermediate cushion can be inserted as an intermediate cushion between a base of the receptacle and an outer edge of the multiple glazing surrounded by the supporting element, in order to thermally separate the outer edge from the supporting element and also to protect it from damage when the ( possibly very severe) multiple glazing in the recording.
- the support element is designed in such a way that a contact pressure can be exerted on the glass surfaces via an adjustment movement of the jaws.
- This is advantageous in order to ensure stable adhesion of the adhesive bond (either a liquid adhesive bond, but preferably an adhesive tape bond).
- Such an adjustment movement is possible, for example, if the jaws are adjustable relative to the support element.
- the jaws are adjustable relative to the support element.
- the jaws of each Support profiles of the support element are formed, as will be explained in more detail. In this case, each of the two support profiles (and thus the brackets) can be pressed onto the respective outer glass surface of the multiple glazing in order to achieve the contact pressure required for bonding.
- the jaws each form a flat adhesive surface, in particular for mounting the adhesive tape.
- the adhesive surface can preferably extend along an outside, in particular along an outer edge, of the multiple glazing. At the beginning and at the end of the outside, the adhesive surface can be set back a little, for example, in order to define a recess in the support element, particularly if this is designed as a frame profile.
- the supporting element in particular the respective one, is designed as a supporting profile (preferably as a longitudinal supporting profile).
- the support element is designed as an adaptation profile with at least one adaptation receptacle, in particular a groove-shaped and/or threaded adaptation receptacle.
- the thread can preferably be designed as a screw channel.
- an attachment such as a handle, part of a Locking mechanism, a Z-joint profile or another profile (e.g. made of metal, plastic or GRP) can be attached particularly easily, so that the supporting element takes on additional functions.
- the adaptation receptacles can be designed, for example, in the form of screw channels with grooves on the inside for receiving screws or in the form of adaptation grooves or by means of a snap-in mechanism.
- the at least one support element comprises an inside support profile and an outside support profile, with the inside or outside referring to the installation situation of the window.
- the distance between these two support profiles can just define the internal dimensions of the recording, that is, the two support profiles can each form one of the two jaws.
- the support profiles can, for example, be made of plastic, GRP or a metal such as aluminum or stainless steel (to name just two common materials), depending on the load to be carried by the multiple glazing.
- the jaws can preferably each be formed in one piece with the respective support profile (as from this).
- the respective support profile and the associated jaw can then be adjusted together, which results in a construction that is particularly easy to manufacture.
- the two support profiles are thermally decoupled from one another by means of at least one insulating body.
- This insulator can be a separate body or, for example, be formed in one piece from one of the two support profiles, especially if this support profile is made of a material with low thermal conductivity such as is made of plastic or GRP.
- the insulator can hold the support profiles together but at the same time be made of a material with low thermal conductivity, for example a plastic or GRP (especially if both support profiles are made of metal).
- a further embodiment provides that the two support profiles are mechanically connected to one another via at least one adjustment body, which allows the distance between the two jaws to be adjusted.
- the at least one adjustment body In order to reliably allow such an adjustment, it is preferable to design the at least one adjustment body as a plastic or metal body and/or as a cylinder, as will be shown below.
- the at least one adjustment body can also form the at least one insulating body, in which case a design made of plastic, for example, is preferable.
- the at least one adjustment body can thus take on several functions: On the one hand, it can ensure thermal insulation between the two support profiles. Furthermore, he can connect the two support profiles to one another mechanically and/or fix them in a desired assembly position relative to one another. Finally, he can ensure that the end surfaces of the two support profiles can be aligned with one another by means of the adjustment body. As a result, a planar contact surface on the outside can be created by the two support profiles, which are flush with this. Additional assembly parts can then be mounted on this contact surface, for example screwed in or hung in.
- At least one adjustment receptacle is formed on at least one of the support profiles, in which the respective Adjustment body can be inserted at different depths.
- the internal dimensions of the mount can be set in the mount during assembly of the multiple glazing.
- the adjustment body can be made of a comparatively hard plastic, for example.
- teeth can be formed in the adjustment receptacle, which is designed in such a way that when the adjustment body is driven into the adjustment receptacle, it digs into the adjustment body and then holds it in place. This is already possible, for example, with simple elevations in the receptacle, or also with the design of barbs or teeth.
- the advantage of such configurations is that after the adjustment body has been driven into the adjustment receptacle, the support profiles can each exert a contact pressure on the respective glass surface or generate a holding force. Because of the teeth, the distance between the two support profiles can be effectively fixed.
- the respective adjustment receptacle can be designed, for example, in the form of an insertion groove (for example as a blind hole), into which the adjustment body can be inserted in a form-fitting manner.
- an insertion groove for example as a blind hole
- the adjustment receptacle can preferably extend over the entire length of the support profile. This makes it particularly easy to achieve that a (slightly reduced) contact pressure can be maintained due to the toothing achieved between the adjustment mount and the adjustment body (and thus between the two support profiles), even after removing the assembly tool such as a screw clamp, so that the support profiles continue to be pressed onto the multiple glazing, which supports the bonding.
- the toothing can be designed, for example, by small elevations, with corresponding bulges and indentations being formed in the adjusting body when the adjustment body is pressed into the adjustment receptacle, which bulges and indentations engage in the toothing.
- the teeth are preferably designed in such a way that the adjustment body can be latched at different insertion depths.
- the adjustment body can be latched at different insertion depths.
- several toothings can be formed at different depths of the adjustment mount.
- the adjustment body can, for example, be preassembled on one side in one of the support profiles.
- two coaxially opposite adjustment receptacles are formed in the two support profiles for each of the at least one adjustment body (ie one adjustment receptacle per support profile and adjustment body). This makes it possible for the respective adjustment body to be mechanically fixed at its respective end by means of a respective toothing in a respective one of the two support profiles. The assembly is then correspondingly simplified again because the adjustment body no longer has to be preassembled.
- the adhesive tape bonding can be designed in such a way that the respective adhesive tape seals the at least one support element, in particular the respective support profile, from the respective glass surface. In this way it can be achieved in particular that no appreciable gas exchange takes place through the window when it is closed.
- the support element and the multiple glazing first for example in the case of a sliding door preferably in the non-assembled state; in the case of other types of opening, on the other hand, the adhesive bond can also be at least prepared in advance in the factory , such as by sticking the adhesive tapes on one side) are transported to the building, that then the support element is glued to the outer glass surfaces of the multiple glazing on the spot.
- the bonds can each be carried out as adhesive tape bonds, preferably by means of an adhesive tape. This has the significant advantage that the adhesive tapes stick immediately and develop their full adhesive strength after just a few hours.
- This new assembly technique means that the adhesive bonds made on the spot (namely the final assembly location of the window) also harden at the final assembly location of the window and not, as was previously the case, in one Assembly hall far away from the construction site.
- the advantage here is that time-consuming pre-assembly of the window far away from the construction site (as has been the case up to now) can be omitted. Therefore, pre-assembled windows no longer have to be packed and transported in a time-consuming process. Rather, it is sufficient to transport the supporting element and the multiple glazing (especially separately from each other) to the construction site, unpack them there and then assemble them directly at the final installation site.
- the bonding can preferably take place as described above, in particular by moving two adjustable jaws of the support element towards one another. This infeed movement allows the contact pressure required for bonding to be built up, regardless of the (fluctuating) thickness of the multiple glazing of the window.
- the method can be used to ensure that adhesive tape bonds made in situ harden at the final installation site of the window.
- the solution to the problem according to the invention can alternatively be characterized in a method of the type described above in that the supporting element offers a receptacle with two adjustable jaws, the spacing of which defines an adjustable internal dimension of the receptacle, and that the multiple glazing is also inserted into the receptacle of the supporting element that the internal dimension is adjusted to a thickness of the multiple glazing and that a respective bond is made between the respective jaws and the respective glass surface.
- Gluing can preferably take place in that the adjustable jaws are pressed onto the multiple glazing. Is the bonding as adhesive tape bonding designed, can be arranged during this pressing accordingly just a respective adhesive tape between the respective jaws and the respective outer glass surface.
- Another advantage of this installation according to the invention is that there is no need for time-consuming pre-installation and storage of the window outside the construction site. Instead, the multiple glazing and the support element/profiles can be delivered directly to the construction site separately (for example from different companies) in order to be glued together on site using the assembly process according to the invention.
- the procedure can be such that first the multiple glazing is inserted between the jaws of the supporting element/the two supporting profiles (whereby this can be done in practice by placing the two comparatively light supporting profiles on the edge of the comparatively heavy multiple glazing ), whereby the distance between the jaws is initially chosen to be large, with a few millimeters distance to the respective glass surface of the multiple glazing. After that, only the protective film on one of the adhesive tapes can initially be peeled off and the pane can be pushed into the receptacle sliding on the protective film of the second adhesive tape along the longitudinal direction of the support element, ie along the respective jaws.
- the second protective film on the second adhesive tape can be removed and then the two jaws like this be moved towards each other for a long time until contact of the multiple glazing with both adhesive tapes is achieved.
- screw clamps or clamping pliers as an assembly tool.
- This contact pressure allows the at least one adjustment body, which can already be inserted into the respective adjustment receptacle prior to being pressed, to be pressed in deeply and latched there.
- This novel adhesive/assembly technique can also be used on parallel opening windows or other windows and glass doors, which can also have frames or other cover rails on the outside.
- the bonding between the support element and the multiple glazing ensures a tight seal and can prevent the support profiles of the support element from twisting in relation to one another.
- gluing increases burglary protection, since the multiple glazing can practically no longer be pried out of the supporting element.
- the described assembly methods according to the invention can therefore be further developed as follows: Provision can be made for the two jaws to be moved towards one another in order to adjust the internal dimensions of the receptacle, in particular using screw clamps as an assembly tool.
- the at least one adjustment body described above can be driven into an adjustment receptacle of the support element. Driving in the adjustment body in this way makes it possible, in particular, for the adjustment body to be permanently latched to a toothing formed in the adjustment receptacle, as described above. As a result, a residual contact pressure on the glass surfaces or a holding force can remain after the screw clamps have been removed.
- a respective adhesive tape is first pre-assembled on the respective jaws and then the multiple glazing is inserted between the jaws.
- the multiple glazing can be pushed into the receptacle and thus between the jaws, preferably along a longitudinal direction of the support element.
- a protective film can then be pulled off one of the adhesive tapes pre-assembled in this way.
- the jaws together with the respective adhesive tapes pre-mounted on them can be pressed onto the multiple glazing in order to form a respective adhesive tape bond between jaws and glass surface.
- the figure 1 shows a first example of a window 1 according to the invention, which is designed as a horizontally displaceable sliding door 16.
- the window 1 comprises multiple glazing 2, which has a plurality of glass panes 22, which are spaced apart from one another by gas-filled pane cavities 23 and corresponding spacers 25 designed as an edge bond.
- the multiple glazing 2 forms an inner outer glass surface 3 and an outer outer glass surface 3 .
- the entire multiple glazing 2 is sealed by appropriate brush seals 26 and rests on a carriage 27, the wheels are guided in a rail profile 28, so that the sliding door 16 in the direction of figure 1 can be moved horizontally.
- the figure 2 now shows the sliding door 16 of figure 1 in a horizontal section, so that the viewer looks at the installation situation from above.
- the arrangement shown has two windows 1 designed according to the invention, specifically designed as a sliding door 16 on the left and as fixed glazing 44 on the right, with the sliding door 16 being able to be displaced relative to the fixed glazing 44 along the displacement direction 30 shown.
- the two windows 1 designed according to the invention are connected to one another by hooking with the aid of a sealing Z-joint profile 38 in the area of the center joint shown (in the closed position of the sliding door 16).
- the window 1 has a support element 4 which offers a receptacle 5 in which the multiple glazing 2 is received and held.
- two axially adjustable jaws 6 of the support element 4 define an internal dimension 7 of the receptacle 5, as illustrated by the dashed arrow.
- the two jaws 6 are each pressed onto the outer glass surface 3 of the multiple glazing 2 , a bond being formed between the respective jaw 6 and the respective glass surface 3 .
- the multiple glazing 2 is thus held by the supporting element 4, with the supporting element 4 running along the left vertical outer edge of the multiple glazing 2 (cf. 2 With 3 ).
- the jaws 6 are bonded to the respective glass surface 3 by means of a respective adhesive tape 9, which, as shown in figure 3 to see, on the inside on a respective adhesive surface 20 (cf. 7 ) of the respective jaw 6 is glued on.
- the thickness 8 refers to the in figure 3 External dimensions of the multiple glazing 2, numbered with reference number 34.
- the supporting element 4 shown in cross-section runs along the entire left vertical outer edge 13 of the multiple glazing 2 and can be seen as a two-part supporting profile 10 or as a longitudinal profile 40 .
- the support element 4 has several adaptation mounts 21 to which add-on parts are attached: On the one hand, in figure 3 a groove-shaped adaptation receptacle 21 can be seen, in which an inside handle 31 is mounted, which is designed as a continuous handle profile. Furthermore, two further adaptation receptacles 21, each provided with a thread 32, are configured in the support element 4, as well as further adaptation receptacles 21, which in the application example shown are not provided with additional add-on parts ("reserve grooves"). The former serve to fasten a part 33 of a locking mechanism, which is fastened with corresponding screws 39 in the threads 32 designed as a screw channel. The support element 4 is thus designed as an adaptation profile 37 .
- the respective support element 4 is designed in two parts and comprises an inside support profile 11 and an outside support profile 12 (cf. 3 ). These two support profiles 11, 12 form the respective jaws 6 in one piece (cf. figure 7 ). By changing the axial position of the respective support profile 11, 12 can thus be the axial Adjust the position of the assigned jaw 6.
- the two supporting profiles 11, 12 are thermally decoupled from one another by means of two insulating bodies 19, that is to say there are no direct contact points between the supporting profiles 11, 12 through which heat could dissipate quickly.
- the insulators 19 serve as a respective adjusting body 14, which mechanically connects the two supporting profiles 11, 12 to one another.
- the adjustment body 14 are each formed as a comparatively solid plastic body.
- an associated adjusting receptacle 17 is formed on each of the two support profiles 11, 12, into which the respective adjusting body 14 can be inserted at different depths. If the two support profiles 11, 12 are axially adjusted relative to one another, the respective adjusting body 14 enters the respective adjustment mount 17 at different depths and thus makes it possible to set the internal dimension 7 of the mount 5 during assembly of the multiple glazing 2 in the mount 5.
- the respective adhesive tape 9 and also the associated flat adhesive surface 20 which is formed by the respective jaw 6 of the respective support profile 11, 12, run along the left vertical outer edge of the multiple glazing 2, the respective adhesive tape 9 seals the support element 4, more precisely the respective support profile 11, 12, against the respective outer glass surface 3 away. Good insulation is thus achieved, since there is no exchange of air from the inside to the outside (cf. 3 ) or water ingress (from outside to inside when it rains) can take place at the respective adhesive tape bond 15.
- the support element 4 is also formed by two support profiles 11, 12, which are designed as longitudinal profiles 40 and are made of aluminum and are fixed at the desired distance from one another by means of two adjusting bodies 14.
- a handle 31 designed as a handle profile on the inside but also on the outside is mounted on the support element 4 in each case by means of grooves (and screw connections, not shown in the figure).

Abstract
Figur 3).In order to simplify the installation of multiple glazing (2) of a window (1), it is proposed that the window (1), which can be designed in particular as a partially frameless movable sliding door (16), comprises a support element (4) which has an adjustable receptacle ( 5) offers, whose internal dimensions (7) can be precisely adjusted to an external dimension (34) of the multiple glazing (2), so that fluctuations in the thickness of the multiple glazing (2) can be easily compensated for. These features allow the bonding between axially adjustable jaws (6) of the support element (4) and the respective outer glass surfaces (3) of the multiple glazing (2) to be designed using an (instantly sticking) adhesive tape (9) with a constant adhesive layer thickness. The gluing of the multiple glazing (2) in the support element (4) and the adhesion of the glue can thus take place directly at the desired installation location of the window (1), so that a complex pre-assembly and storage in the factory as well as a risky transport of the pre-assembled window (1) can be omitted (see FIG. 3).
Description
The invention relates to a window that is preferably designed to be openable, i.e. in particular window glazing which comprises multiple glazing which has two opposite outer glass surfaces and at least one support element which (each) offers a receptacle in which the multiple glazing is accommodated and held is. In this case, the window can be designed, for example, as a parallel opening, projecting top-hung, folding or punched window or also as a door, in particular as a sliding door, or also as fixed glazing.
The invention also relates to a method for installing such a (preferably openable) window in a building. In this case, the window again has multiple glazing with two opposite outer glass surfaces and at least one support element, the latter being/is supported by the multiple glazing.
In recent years, (at least partially) frameless designed windows have become more and more common on the market, such windows being sold in particular as horizontally sliding sliding doors with frame parts embedded in the floor or ceiling. The attractiveness of such windows that can be opened is based on both aesthetic and structural reasons.
Since windows of this type are often used as outside windows in buildings, they typically have very complex multiple glazing, which offers high thermal insulation. Typical, for example, are multiple glazing in the form of insulating glass windows with at least three separate panes of glass, which have internal Spacers, usually designed as an edge bond, are spaced apart and held together. The resulting gaps are usually filled with an inert gas and sealed with a lot of effort, mostly with silicone or thiocol. Furthermore, the innermost and the outermost pane of glass are often designed as laminated safety glass (LSG), which in turn consists of two panes of glass that are laminated directly to one another using a PVB film. If one of the two panes breaks, the shards stick to the foil so that no splinters arise and safety is guaranteed. In addition, these safety glasses offer additional burglary protection. Furthermore, single-pane safety glass (ESG) is also known, which also minimizes the risk of injury if the pane breaks.
Such a complex structure of multiple glazing leads to excellent thermal insulation; however, such multiple glazing is subject to considerable fluctuations in thickness. Typical thickness tolerances of multiple glazing are about +/- 1-2 mm, depending on the exact structure; with window lengths of a few meters, however, length fluctuations of the multiple glazing can also amount to 1 to 4 mm.
Up to now, it has also been customary to hold such windows by means of support profiles made of metal or glass fiber reinforced plastic (GRP) which surround the multiple glazing on the outside, with the support profile often being designed in a basic C shape. Accordingly, the support profile offers a receptacle with a fixed internal dimension, in which the multiple glazing is to be mounted in a sealed manner, which is usually achieved by gluing. In order to be able to compensate for the unavoidable variations in thickness of the multiple glazing, the multiple glazing has hitherto been attached to the receptacle by means of an initially liquid adhesive layer glued into the support profile, whereby silicone adhesive (SSG - structural silicone glazing) is often used for this purpose. Such a type of bonding can, on the one hand, absorb static loads; on the other hand, the thickness of the liquid adhesive layer automatically adapts to the remaining gap between the inside of the support profile and the respective outer glass surface (left and right) of the multiple glazing. As a result, the thickness tolerance mentioned can be compensated for and a good seal between the support profile and multiple glazing can be achieved.
The disadvantage here, however, is that the liquid adhesive layer only develops its full adhesive and load-bearing capacity after a longer period of approx. 24 hours. For this reason, the windows and support profile have so far been pre-assembled, stored in a hall overnight and then repackaged in a pre-assembled state and transported to the construction site in order to be installed in a building on the spot.
Proceeding from this, the invention has set itself the goal of devising an improvement in this previously known assembly technique.
To solve the problem, the features of claim 1 are provided according to the invention in an openable window. In particular, it is therefore proposed according to the invention to solve the problem with a window of the type mentioned that the at least one support element has two adjustable jaws, the spacing of which defines an adjustable internal dimension of the receptacle and that the jaws are also glued to the glass surfaces.
A window designed according to the invention can therefore have a support element designed in this way or else several such support elements. Here, each of these supporting elements embrace a corresponding outer edge of the multiple glazing.
The advantage of this proposed solution is that the recording can be adapted to different thicknesses of the multiple glazing.
However, the invention can also be used advantageously when the thickness of the multiple glazing turns out to be comparatively constant. Because the adjustability of the jaws can be designed in such a way that the jaws can each perform an axial infeed movement perpendicular to the glass surface. This axial feed movement allows (unlike the previously known stationary mounts, where the multiple glazing must be inserted into the mount in the plane of the pane) that the jaws can be provided with an adhesive layer of constant thickness, which are then brought into contact by the feed movement can with the respective glass surface. With this approach, even when using a constant adhesive layer thickness, a good seal can always be achieved and, above all, good adhesion of the adhesive layer that occurs immediately.
So while in previous solutions the thickness variations of the multiple glazing were compensated by the variable thickness of the liquid silicone adhesive layer, the invention provides in particular that such thickness variations are compensated for by adjusting the distance between the two jaws, while the thickness of the adhesive layer can remain constant .
What is particularly advantageous about this embodiment of the window according to the invention is that the window can then be assembled directly on the construction site using an assembly method according to the invention, as will be explained in more detail below.
Depending on the type of opening of the window, the support element (ie in particular the two support profiles mentioned) can be fastened to different outer edges of the window. If the window is designed, for example, as a frameless sliding door on the top and bottom, the support element can be mounted on the multiple glazing of the window, for example on the left or right vertical outer edge (depending on the opening direction) using the adhesive tape.
The multiple glazing of the window can have, for example, at least two, preferably three, glass panes thermally insulated from one another by means of enclosed gas volumes (in particular an inner, middle and outer glass pane). Here, the inside and outside glass pane can be configured as laminated safety glass (VSG) or, for example, as toughened safety glass (ESG), as is usual in the prior art.
The term glass pane is to be understood functionally here; the glass panes can be made of quartz glass or plastic, for example.
The term window is also to be understood functionally here. For example, the window can be designed as a hinged window, in particular a parallel hinged window, as a projecting top-hung, hinged or punched window or also as a door, in particular as a sliding door. Furthermore, it is also possible to construct the window as a pivoting, turning, rotating or tilting sash, or for example as a folding wall section, the list being to be understood only as an example and the present invention also extends to other types of windows known in the prior art is applicable, which are installed in buildings. So it can be provided in particular that the window as a sliding door or is designed as a hinged window or as a pivoting window or pivoting door or reversible wing.
Furthermore, the window can be at least partially frameless and/or movably guided, i.e. in particular slidably guided (for example in the case of a sliding door), suspended or set up (for example on a carriage provided with rollers).
According to the invention, the object can also be achieved by further advantageous embodiments.
Thus, the above approach according to the invention can advantageously be combined with an adhesive tape technique. In particular, it can be provided that the jaws described above are each glued to the glass surfaces by means of an adhesive tape. These adhesive tapes can preferably have an adhesive layer of constant thickness.
It should be noted here that the use of adhesive tapes is only made possible by the adjustability of the internal dimensions of the receptacle, which typically have an adhesive layer of constant thickness which, unlike liquid adhesives, cannot compensate for the thickness tolerance of the multiple glazing. This also explains why adhesive tapes have hitherto not been used to fasten complex multiple glazing in associated supporting elements.
The adhesive tape can preferably be in the form of a double-sided adhesive tape (preferably provided with a removable protective film). It makes sense here to pre-assemble the adhesive tape on the support element.
Using tape avoids the typical problems of liquid adhesives, especially that Smearing and contamination of the liquid adhesive film, and also shearing from the glass pane to the supporting profile. This is because, in practice, just as reliable and stable adhesive connections can be produced with commercially available high-performance adhesive tapes, but with significantly less processing effort compared to liquid adhesives.
Especially when using high-performance adhesive tapes (which typically offer a tensile strength of up to 540 kPa), this results in the essential advantage over liquid adhesives such as silicone that the adhesive tape adhesion secures the assembly of the multiple glazing in the receptacle against unintentional shifting and twisting. Because an adhesive tape, as soon as it is pressed on, allows practically no more shearing movement, unlike a (still) liquid adhesive layer.
According to the invention, an intermediate layer (e.g. made of foam) can be inserted as an intermediate cushion between a base of the receptacle and an outer edge of the multiple glazing surrounded by the supporting element, in order to thermally separate the outer edge from the supporting element and also to protect it from damage when the ( possibly very severe) multiple glazing in the recording.
For example, it can be provided that the support element is designed in such a way that a contact pressure can be exerted on the glass surfaces via an adjustment movement of the jaws. This is advantageous in order to ensure stable adhesion of the adhesive bond (either a liquid adhesive bond, but preferably an adhesive tape bond). Such an adjustment movement is possible, for example, if the jaws are adjustable relative to the support element. But preferred is a construction in which the jaws of each Support profiles of the support element are formed, as will be explained in more detail. In this case, each of the two support profiles (and thus the brackets) can be pressed onto the respective outer glass surface of the multiple glazing in order to achieve the contact pressure required for bonding.
Especially when using adhesive tapes, it is advantageous if the jaws each form a flat adhesive surface, in particular for mounting the adhesive tape. In this case, the adhesive surface can preferably extend along an outside, in particular along an outer edge, of the multiple glazing. At the beginning and at the end of the outside, the adhesive surface can be set back a little, for example, in order to define a recess in the support element, particularly if this is designed as a frame profile.
Another particularly preferred embodiment of the window provides that the supporting element, in particular the respective one, is designed as a supporting profile (preferably as a longitudinal supporting profile).
Provision can therefore be made, for example, for the supporting element (possibly the respective one—depending on the design of the window) to extend only along an outer edge of the multiple glazing.
In general, it is preferred if the support element is designed as an adaptation profile with at least one adaptation receptacle, in particular a groove-shaped and/or threaded adaptation receptacle. The thread can preferably be designed as a screw channel. At such an adaptation shot then an attachment, such as a handle, part of a Locking mechanism, a Z-joint profile or another profile (e.g. made of metal, plastic or GRP) can be attached particularly easily, so that the supporting element takes on additional functions. The adaptation receptacles can be designed, for example, in the form of screw channels with grooves on the inside for receiving screws or in the form of adaptation grooves or by means of a snap-in mechanism.
A further particularly preferred embodiment provides that the at least one support element (each) comprises an inside support profile and an outside support profile, with the inside or outside referring to the installation situation of the window. Here, the distance between these two support profiles can just define the internal dimensions of the recording, that is, the two support profiles can each form one of the two jaws. The support profiles can, for example, be made of plastic, GRP or a metal such as aluminum or stainless steel (to name just two common materials), depending on the load to be carried by the multiple glazing.
In this case, the jaws can preferably each be formed in one piece with the respective support profile (as from this). The respective support profile and the associated jaw can then be adjusted together, which results in a construction that is particularly easy to manufacture.
Der Isolierkörper kann die Tragprofile also zusammen halten aber gleichzeitig aus einem Material mit geringer thermischer Leitfähigkeit gewählt sein, beispielsweise einem Kunststoff oder GFK (insbesondere dann, wenn beide Tragprofile aus Metall gefertigt sind).Furthermore, for good thermal insulation, it is preferable if the two support profiles are thermally decoupled from one another by means of at least one insulating body. This insulator can be a separate body or, for example, be formed in one piece from one of the two support profiles, especially if this support profile is made of a material with low thermal conductivity such as is made of plastic or GRP. The insulator can hold the support profiles together but at the same time be made of a material with low thermal conductivity, for example a plastic or GRP (especially if both support profiles are made of metal).
A further embodiment provides that the two support profiles are mechanically connected to one another via at least one adjustment body, which allows the distance between the two jaws to be adjusted. In order to reliably allow such an adjustment, it is preferable to design the at least one adjustment body as a plastic or metal body and/or as a cylinder, as will be shown below. In this case, the at least one adjustment body can also form the at least one insulating body, in which case a design made of plastic, for example, is preferable.
The at least one adjustment body can thus take on several functions: On the one hand, it can ensure thermal insulation between the two support profiles.
In order to further improve the assembly, it is also proposed that at least one adjustment receptacle is formed on at least one of the support profiles, in which the respective Adjustment body can be inserted at different depths. In this case, the internal dimensions of the mount can be set in the mount during assembly of the multiple glazing. The adjustment body can be made of a comparatively hard plastic, for example. In this case, it is advantageous if the adjustment mount is made of a softer plastic, because then a good fit between the adjustment body and the adjustment mount can be achieved.
Furthermore, teeth can be formed in the adjustment receptacle, which is designed in such a way that when the adjustment body is driven into the adjustment receptacle, it digs into the adjustment body and then holds it in place. This is already possible, for example, with simple elevations in the receptacle, or also with the design of barbs or teeth. The advantage of such configurations is that after the adjustment body has been driven into the adjustment receptacle, the support profiles can each exert a contact pressure on the respective glass surface or generate a holding force. Because of the teeth, the distance between the two support profiles can be effectively fixed.
The respective adjustment receptacle can be designed, for example, in the form of an insertion groove (for example as a blind hole), into which the adjustment body can be inserted in a form-fitting manner.
Furthermore, the adjustment receptacle can preferably extend over the entire length of the support profile.
The toothing can be designed, for example, by small elevations, with corresponding bulges and indentations being formed in the adjusting body when the adjustment body is pressed into the adjustment receptacle, which bulges and indentations engage in the toothing.
The teeth are preferably designed in such a way that the adjustment body can be latched at different insertion depths. For this purpose, for example, several toothings can be formed at different depths of the adjustment mount.
The adjustment body can, for example, be preassembled on one side in one of the support profiles. According to a preferred embodiment, which makes such pre-assembly superfluous, however, two coaxially opposite adjustment receptacles are formed in the two support profiles for each of the at least one adjustment body (ie one adjustment receptacle per support profile and adjustment body). This makes it possible for the respective adjustment body to be mechanically fixed at its respective end by means of a respective toothing in a respective one of the two support profiles. The assembly is then correspondingly simplified again because the adjustment body no longer has to be preassembled.
The adhesive tape bonding can be designed in such a way that the respective adhesive tape seals the at least one support element, in particular the respective support profile, from the respective glass surface. In this way it can be achieved in particular that no appreciable gas exchange takes place through the window when it is closed.
To achieve the above object, the features of the two independent method claims are also provided according to the invention. These are based on the common inventive approach of using a support profile for holding the multiple glazing of a window, which offers a receptacle with an adjustable internal dimension, in which the multiple glazing can be or is held.
In particular, it is therefore proposed according to the invention to solve the problem in a method of the type described at the outset that the support element and the multiple glazing first (for example in the case of a sliding door preferably in the non-assembled state; in the case of other types of opening, on the other hand, the adhesive bond can also be at least prepared in advance in the factory , such as by sticking the adhesive tapes on one side) are transported to the building, that then the support element is glued to the outer glass surfaces of the multiple glazing on the spot. This ensures that the adhesive bonds only develop their full adhesive strength at the final installation location of the window (i.e. in particular while the window is already installed in the desired final position). This has the decisive advantage that there is no need to laboriously move the window forward.
In this case, the bonds can each be carried out as adhesive tape bonds, preferably by means of an adhesive tape. This has the significant advantage that the adhesive tapes stick immediately and develop their full adhesive strength after just a few hours.
This new assembly technique means that the adhesive bonds made on the spot (namely the final assembly location of the window) also harden at the final assembly location of the window and not, as was previously the case, in one Assembly hall far away from the construction site. The advantage here is that time-consuming pre-assembly of the window far away from the construction site (as has been the case up to now) can be omitted. Therefore, pre-assembled windows no longer have to be packed and transported in a time-consuming process. Rather, it is sufficient to transport the supporting element and the multiple glazing (especially separately from each other) to the construction site, unpack them there and then assemble them directly at the final installation site.
It goes without saying that the bonding can preferably take place as described above, in particular by moving two adjustable jaws of the support element towards one another. This infeed movement allows the contact pressure required for bonding to be built up, regardless of the (fluctuating) thickness of the multiple glazing of the window.
In particular, the method can be used to ensure that adhesive tape bonds made in situ harden at the final installation site of the window.
The solution to the problem according to the invention can alternatively be characterized in a method of the type described above in that the supporting element offers a receptacle with two adjustable jaws, the spacing of which defines an adjustable internal dimension of the receptacle, and that the multiple glazing is also inserted into the receptacle of the supporting element that the internal dimension is adjusted to a thickness of the multiple glazing and that a respective bond is made between the respective jaws and the respective glass surface.
Gluing can preferably take place in that the adjustable jaws are pressed onto the multiple glazing. Is the bonding as adhesive tape bonding designed, can be arranged during this pressing accordingly just a respective adhesive tape between the respective jaws and the respective outer glass surface.
It goes without saying that this method can also be used to implement all of the previously described method features of the first independent method claim, so that these features can also be used in combination to solve the task.
Another advantage of this installation according to the invention is that there is no need for time-consuming pre-installation and storage of the window outside the construction site. Instead, the multiple glazing and the support element/profiles can be delivered directly to the construction site separately (for example from different companies) in order to be glued together on site using the assembly process according to the invention.
In the assembly process according to the invention, the procedure can be such that first the multiple glazing is inserted between the jaws of the supporting element/the two supporting profiles (whereby this can be done in practice by placing the two comparatively light supporting profiles on the edge of the comparatively heavy multiple glazing ), whereby the distance between the jaws is initially chosen to be large, with a few millimeters distance to the respective glass surface of the multiple glazing. After that, only the protective film on one of the adhesive tapes can initially be peeled off and the pane can be pushed into the receptacle sliding on the protective film of the second adhesive tape along the longitudinal direction of the support element, ie along the respective jaws. Once this insertion is done, the second protective film on the second adhesive tape can be removed and then the two jaws like this be moved towards each other for a long time until contact of the multiple glazing with both adhesive tapes is achieved. In this state, a contact pressure (preferably of approx. 10 N/cm 2 =100 kPa) can then be exerted with the aid of screw clamps or clamping pliers as an assembly tool.
This contact pressure allows the at least one adjustment body, which can already be inserted into the respective adjustment receptacle prior to being pressed, to be pressed in deeply and latched there.
It is therefore advantageous that the entire assembly of the window can take place directly on site and that the windows do not have to be unpacked, glued, stored, cured and then repacked for transport in the factory. Instead, high-performance adhesive tapes can be used, which can already harden directly in the built-in and assembled state of the window in the building and thus already develop their full adhesive strength after a few hours, so that the window can then already be operated, i.e. opened and closed.
This novel adhesive/assembly technique can also be used on parallel opening windows or other windows and glass doors, which can also have frames or other cover rails on the outside. The bonding between the support element and the multiple glazing ensures a tight seal and can prevent the support profiles of the support element from twisting in relation to one another. In addition, gluing increases burglary protection, since the multiple glazing can practically no longer be pried out of the supporting element.
The described assembly methods according to the invention can therefore be further developed as follows:
Provision can be made for the two jaws to be moved towards one another in order to adjust the internal dimensions of the receptacle, in particular using screw clamps as an assembly tool. The at least one adjustment body described above can be driven into an adjustment receptacle of the support element. Driving in the adjustment body in this way makes it possible, in particular, for the adjustment body to be permanently latched to a toothing formed in the adjustment receptacle, as described above. As a result, a residual contact pressure on the glass surfaces or a holding force can remain after the screw clamps have been removed.
Finally, to further improve the assembly, it is proposed that a respective adhesive tape is first pre-assembled on the respective jaws and then the multiple glazing is inserted between the jaws. For this purpose, the multiple glazing can be pushed into the receptacle and thus between the jaws, preferably along a longitudinal direction of the support element. A protective film can then be pulled off one of the adhesive tapes pre-assembled in this way. Finally, the jaws together with the respective adhesive tapes pre-mounted on them can be pressed onto the multiple glazing in order to form a respective adhesive tape bond between jaws and glass surface.
These processes enable very clean, high-strength and stable bonding between the multiple glazing and the supporting element, which also makes it possible to achieve good thermal insulation of the window.
