Definitions

  • the invention relates to a tamping unit for tamping sleepers on a track, comprising a tamping unit with opposing tamping tools mounted on a height-adjustable tool carrier, which can be set in motion via drives and can be ordered in relation to one another, with each tamping tool having a pivoting lever rotatable about an auxiliary axis and an inner as well as a outer tamping tool holder and wherein each tamping tool holder is laterally pivotable with respect to the pivot lever.
  • tracks with a ballast bed are regularly processed using a tamping machine.
  • the tamping machine drives on the track and lifts the track grid, which is made up of sleepers and rails, to a target level using a lifting/aligning unit.
  • the new track layout is fixed by tamping the sleepers with a tamping unit.
  • the tamping unit includes tamping tools with tamping picks, which during a tamping process are subjected to vibrations and dip into the ballast bed and are placed next to one another.
  • the ballast is compacted below the respective sleeper.
  • Two tamping units are assigned to each rail of the track, each tamping a sleeper on either side of the rail.
  • Each tamping unit includes two opposing tamping tools.
  • Two tamping picks are usually arranged side by side on each tamping tool. Specifically, an inner tamping pick plunging in next to the rail and an outer tamping pick plunging in at a greater distance from the rail are provided.
  • both tamping picks immersed side by side in the gravel, there is a wide effective range. If there are obstacles on the track and particularly in the area of a switch, there is often too little space for the simultaneous immersion of the two tamping picks arranged next to one another.
  • a tamping unit with so-called swing tines In this case, laterally pivotable tamping pick holders are arranged on the respective tamping tool.
  • the outer tamping tool can first be swung up separately if there is only space between the rails, sleepers and track installations to insert a tamping tool. If there is no possibility of immersion at all on one side of the sleeper, then the inner tamping tool is swung up as well. The tamping unit can then only be lowered with the tamping picks of the tamping tool opposite.
  • a disadvantage of the known arrangement of swivel picks is the space required for the respective swivel mechanism including swivel drives.
  • the invention is based on the object of specifying a tamping unit of the type mentioned at the outset with a compact design.
  • the outer tamping tine holder can be pivoted about a first pivot axis and that the inner tamping tine holder can be pivoted about a second pivot axis that is offset relative to the first pivot axis. This eliminates the need to arrange elements next to one another for pivoting the tamping tool holders.
  • the staggered arrangement enables optimized use of the available installation space. The result is a compact tamping unit that has small external dimensions, particularly in the longitudinal direction of the track.
  • a first contact element is advantageously arranged on an outer side of the inner tamping tool holder, with a second contact element being arranged on an inner side of the outer tamping tool holder and with the two contact elements being pivoted downwards Interlocking tamping tool holders.
  • the outer tamping tine holder is connected directly to a first pivoting drive and the inner tamping tine holder is connected to a second pivoting drive via a coupling arrangement mounted on the associated pivoting lever.
  • the arrangement of the coupling arrangement allows a further reduction in the space required. This makes the design of the tamping unit even more compact.
  • the coupling arrangement comprises a pivoting element which is rotatably mounted on the pivoting lever and a connecting element which connects the pivoting element to the inner tamping tool holder.
  • This arrangement is both robust and space-saving. Only rotary joints are used, which are easy to produce and have a long service life with little maintenance.
  • it can also be useful to use translationally mounted coupling elements.
  • a further simplification provides that the pivoting element is arranged to be pivotable about the first pivot axis.
  • the outer tamping pick holder and the pivoting element can thus be rotated about the same pivoting axis on the respective pivoting lever. This enables a compact design of the corresponding bearings with a continuous bearing shaft.
  • the function of the tamping unit is advantageously expanded if a driver is arranged on the connecting element and if the driver bears against a link element of the outer tamping tine holder when the inner tamping tine holder is swiveled up. In this way, when the inner tamping tool holder is swiveled up, the outer tamping tool holder is also swiveled up. For swinging up both For tamping tine holders it is sufficient to activate the second rotary drive while leaving the first rotary drive activated.
  • the outer tamping tool holder has a recess through which the coupling assembly is passed.
  • the outer tamping tool holder has a fork with a deepened recess in the direction of the pivot bearing, so that the recess is suitable for carrying out the coupling arrangement.
  • the inner tamping pick holder is also forked in the area of the associated pivot bearing, with the coupling arrangement being articulated in the middle.
  • a hydraulic cylinder is assigned to each tamping tool as a drive for adding and for applying vibrations.
  • a hydraulic control system is set up in such a way that an oscillating movement is superimposed on a positioning movement during a positioning process.
  • a chamber of the hydraulic cylinder is subjected to pulsating pressure. During an immersion process of the tamping tines in a ballast bed, only vibration is applied.
  • each tamping tool is assigned an auxiliary cylinder, each auxiliary cylinder being coupled to an eccentric drive for the purpose of applying vibrations.
  • a narrow design is also achieved here with auxiliary cylinders arranged side by side or one below the other.
  • a corresponding solution is disclosed in the publication AT 520 267 A1 .
  • An advantageous development provides that, for the simultaneous tamping of several sleepers, several tamping units are arranged one behind the other in a longitudinal direction of the track.
  • the narrow construction of the respective tamping unit enables this arrangement with unrestricted function of the swivel tines.
  • the tamping units are constructed in the same way. This simplifies production and reduces maintenance costs because fewer different spare parts are required. In addition, a higher-level control of the jointly arranged tamping units is facilitated. Due to the same kinematic properties of the individual tamping units, synchronous movement sequences can be easily implemented.
  • the tool carriers of the tamping units arranged one behind the other are advantageously mounted in a common unit frame so that they can be adjusted in height. This enables a joint lateral displacement or twisting about a vertical axis by adjusting the assembly frame. In this way, the tamping units arranged one behind the other can be positioned in a simple manner over a branching track of a switch.
  • each tool carrier of the tamping units arranged one behind the other can be separately adjusted in height by means of its own actuator.
  • the tamping units arranged one behind the other can be lowered to different depths. This allows a sill to be successively tamped down in different depth zones.
  • a lowering of individual tamping units can be suspended if there is not enough space for the tamping tines to penetrate.
  • Tamping unit 1 shown comprises a unit frame 2, which is laterally displaceably mounted on a machine frame 3 of a track construction machine not described in detail.
  • the track-laying machine drives on a track with sleepers 5 mounted on a ballast bed 4 and rails 6 fastened thereon.
  • At least one tamping unit 7 is arranged in the assembly frame 2 .
  • a tamping unit 1 for the simultaneous tamping of several sleepers 5 several tamping units 7 are arranged one behind the other ( 8 ).

  • the tamping unit 1 comprises a plurality of unit frames 2 arranged next to one another in the transverse direction of the track, with tamping units 7 mounted therein to enable positioning over a branching track of a switch.
  • the respective tamping tool 10 On the tool carrier 8 of the respective tamping unit 7 there are mounted two tamping tools 10 lying opposite one another in relation to a sleeper 5 to be tamped.
  • the respective tamping tool 10 comprises a pivoting lever 11 which is mounted on the tool carrier 8 so that it can rotate about an auxiliary axis 12 .
  • the auxiliary axis 12 is usually aligned in the transverse direction of the track.
  • An upper arm of the pivoting lever 11 is coupled to a drive 13 in order to bring about a positioning movement with a superimposed oscillating movement during a tamping operation.
  • an inner tamping tool holder 14 and an outer tamping tool holder 15 for attaching tamping tools 16 are arranged on a lower arm of the swing lever 11.
  • the terms inner tamping tool holder 14 and outer tamping tool holder 15 refer to the position of two tamping units 7 that can be lowered on either side of a rail 6 .
  • the inner holders 14 of the two tamping units 7 are directly opposite to the rail 6 .
  • the tamping tines 16 fastened in the outer tamping tine holders 15 dip into the ballast bed 4 at a greater distance from the rail 6 .
  • first swivel joint 17 such that it can rotate about a first swivel axis 18 .
  • a second pivot axis 19 is arranged offset to this.
  • the inner tamping tool holder 14 can be pivoted up around this second pivot axis 19.
  • a connection between the inner tamping tool holder 14 and the pivoting lever 11 is designed as a second pivot joint 20, which is offset downwards and inwards compared to the first pivot joint 17.
  • Both pivot axes 18, 19 are aligned parallel to one another and normal to the auxiliary axis 12.
  • the outer tamping tool holder 15 is advantageously connected directly to a first pivoting drive 21 . This is articulated, for example, on the one hand on the outer tamping pick holder 15 and on the other hand on the pivoting lever 11 .
  • the inner tamping tine holder 14 is connected to a second swivel drive 23 via a coupling arrangement 22 . This one is again on Pivoted lever 11 articulated.
  • the swivel drives 21, 23 are preferably designed as hydraulic cylinders.
  • the coupling arrangement 22 comprises a pivoting element 24 rotatably mounted on the pivoting lever 11 and a connecting element 25 connecting the pivoting element 24 to the inner tamping tool holder 14.
  • the pivoting element 24 is advantageously rotatable about the first pivot axis 18.
  • the first rotary joint 17 thus also includes the articulation of the pivoting element 24 on the pivoting lever 11.
  • the tamping tool holders 14, 15 are positively connected via additional contact elements 26, 27 in the downwardly pivoted state.
  • a first contact element 26 is shown on an outer side of the inner tamping pick holder 14 .
  • a second contact element 27 is arranged on the facing inner side of the outer tamping pick holder 15 .
  • the two contact elements 26, 27 are designed in such a way that they can engage in one another.
  • the first contact element 26 comprises a wedge that fits into a wedge-shaped depression of the second contact element 27 .
  • the outer tamping tool holder 15 together with the tamping tool 16 and then the inner tamping tool holder 14 together with the tamping tool 16 can be swiveled up by means of the rotary drives 21 , 23 .
  • both tamping tool holders 14, 15 by means of the second pivot drive 23 can be pivoted up at the same time.
  • the first swivel drive 21 is depressurized.
  • a link element 28 is fastened to a point of the outer tamping tool holder 15 which is located next to the connecting element 25 for synchronous upward pivoting.
  • a driver 29 is fastened to the connecting element 25 as a counter-element. This driver 29 rests on the link element 28 . During an upward pivoting process, the driver 29 slides along the link element 28 and thus causes the outer tamping tool holder 15 to pivot as well. The shape and position of the link element 28 and the driver 29 determine the pivoting movement of the outer tamping tool holder 15.
  • the outer tamping tool holder 15 has a fork towards the top.
  • the outer tamping pick holder 15 is connected to the pivoting lever 11 at two bearing points spaced apart in the direction of the pivoting axis 30 .
  • the inner tamping tine holder 14 also has two bearing points spaced apart in the direction of the pivot axis 30 .
  • the connecting element 25 acts on the inner tamping tool holder 14 .
  • the pivoted levers 11 are connected to hydraulic cylinders as drives 13 .
  • the respective hydraulic cylinder is designed to generate an adjustment movement with a superimposed vibration movement.
  • a narrow construction in the direction of the pivot axis 30 is achieved by the hydraulic cylinders arranged one below the other.
  • the strokes and pressures of the hydraulic cylinders are coordinated with the respective lever ratio of the pivoted levers 11 so that the same auxiliary forces and vibration amplitudes are set at the ends of the tamping picks 16 . It can be useful to arrange the additional axes 12 offset in the vertical direction.
  • the drives 13 are designed as auxiliary cylinders and eccentric drives.
  • the respective pivoted lever 11 is coupled to the eccentric drive via an associated auxiliary cylinder.
  • each auxiliary cylinder is connected to an eccentric shaft in order to generate the oscillating movement when the eccentric shaft rotates.
  • the tamping tines 16 are placed in relation to one another when the auxiliary cylinders are activated.
  • the eccentric drive is arranged above or below it. Brackets are mounted on the eccentric shaft, which are aligned upwards or downwards and to which the auxiliary cylinders are connected.
  • a pivoting process of the inner tamping pick 16 is based on the Figures 4 and 6 explained.
  • the associated second pivot drive 23 is as Hydraulic cylinder trained. One end of the cylinder is pivoted to the upper arm of the swing lever 11 so as to be rotatable.
  • the piston rod is connected to the pivoting element 24 in an articulated manner.
  • the pivoting element 24 rotatable about the first pivot axis 18 and the inner tamping tool holder 14 rotatable about the second pivot axis 19 form a double rocker with the connecting element 25 as a coupler.
  • An actuation of the double rocker by activating the second pivot drive 23 shows 6 . Left is the starting position according to 4 shown.
  • the illustration on the right shows the arrangement with the inner tamping tool holder 14 pivoted up together with the tamping tool 16.

  • the eccentric linkage causes the tamping tool holder 15 to pivot when the first pivoting drive 21 is actuated.
  • the different pivot arrangements allow a particularly narrow design in the pivot axis direction 30. This creates the possibility of arranging several tamping units 7 one behind the other in a common unit frame 2. 8 shows a corresponding arrangement for the simultaneous tamping of three sleepers 5.
  • Each tamping unit 7 is advantageously assigned its own height adjustment drive 9 in order to be able to lower individual tamping units 7 separately in the event of obstacles in the track. In addition to being able to be lowered separately, there is the advantage that all tamping units 7 are of identical design. This makes it easier to manufacture and maintain the tamping unit 1.
  • a sill 5 can be successively tamped down in different depth zones.
  • the foremost tamping unit 7 is lowered lower than the middle tamping unit 7.
  • the rearmost tamping unit 7 is lowered less deeply than the middle tamping unit 7.
  • each threshold is tamped three times with decreasing penetration depth as the tamping unit 1 advances threshold by threshold.
  • Such multiple tamping leads to improved ballast compaction, particularly when the ballast bed 4 is thick.
