Definitions
- the invention relates to a membrane for textile architecture, comprising a fabric layer with warp threads and weft threads with a thread count of the warp threads and weft threads of at least 550 dtex each and at least one coating layer which is applied to the fabric layer, the fabric layer with a float of the weft threads over at least four warp threads is formed.
- Textile membranes are usually coated with a polymer, usually polyvinyl chloride (PVC), to increase their resistance to weathering.
- PVC polyvinyl chloride
- the coating is applied on both sides.
- a layer of lacquer is then applied to the polymer coating in order to achieve even greater weather resistance.
- Textile membranes have so far been based on fabrics that have been woven on the basis of correspondingly strong threads or yarns in a plain or basket weave, for example a basket weave 2/2.
- the use of these types of weave for textile membranes has the advantage that with a low setting (thread density) sufficient surface coverage and strength can be achieved for coating.
- the advantage here is simpler and faster (weaving time) production without special weaving machines.
- a disadvantage is the limited feasibility dependent on the thread density and thus the limits of strength.
- the object of the invention is to specify a textile membrane of the type mentioned at the outset, which leads to greater weather resistance with approximately the same elongation behavior in the warp and weft.
- a generic textile membrane with a satin weave or a modification thereof or generally with a defined floating of the weft threads over at least four warp threads Firstly, the warp and weft threads, in contrast to a plain or basket weave, have significantly fewer crossing points or longer floats, which is why the thread density can be chosen higher without any problems.
- the satin weave or an alternative design with suitable floatation optimizes the fabric structure and thus also has a positive effect on the thickness of the at least one coating layer and, above all, avoids the thin areas in the coating layer or layers that occur in heavily structured fabrics.
- the formation of the fabric layer with, in particular, a satin weave also means that differences in stretching in the warp direction and in the weft direction are significantly lower than with a plain or basket weave. The reason for this is that the warp and weft threads have significantly less looping and therefore the stretching behavior in the warp and weft directions decreases accordingly.
- a satin weave there is the additional advantage that, due to the multiple skipping of the warp threads, the thread density in the warp and weft directions can be increased compared to both the plain and basket weave, resulting in an increase in the mechanical properties can be achieved with the same thickness.
- haptics since the surface (right side of the fabric warp effect, left side of the fabric weft effect) is significantly smoother than was previously the case with textile membranes with plain or Panama weave.
- the thread count can be at least 1000 dtex, preferably 1100 dtex or more.
- the weft threads are guided over at least four, in particular five to seven, warp threads.
- five-thread and eight-thread satin weaves can be used to achieve the desired properties, as discussed in the previous paragraph, ie the weft threads are guided over four or seven warp threads before they are incorporated again.
- the floats of the warp and weft threads can be guided, for example, over at least four up to, for example, seven to nine (warp) threads, depending on the choice of a weave repeat and a number of pitches.
- the threads can float over at least four (five-thread) up to seven (eight-thread) or more warp and weft threads, depending on the selected weave repeat and the number of pitches. Similar effects can be achieved by derivatives of the satin weave (e.g. reinforced satin weaves).
- the warp threads and/or the weft threads are each formed from a multifilament yarn.
- both the warp threads and the weft threads are made from a multifilament yarn.
- Multifilament yarns have the required strength. Multifilament yarns can also be spun-dyed if the textile membrane is not intended to be white anyway.
- the warp threads and/or the weft threads can in particular be formed from a polyester, in particular spun. Both the warp threads and the weft threads are preferably formed from a polyester, since an appropriate choice of material ensures durability and the achievement of desired mechanical properties. In principle, however, monofilament yarns can also be used.
- Alternative plastics are also possible for example from acrylates or polyethylene derivatives.
- the thickness of the membrane can be selected within a wide range depending on the weight class and the required strength. It is favorable if the membrane is formed with a thickness of 500 ⁇ m to 1300 ⁇ m, preferably 600 ⁇ m to 1200 ⁇ m, in particular 700 ⁇ m to 1000 ⁇ m. On the one hand, a required strength can be achieved in the corresponding thickness range. On the other hand, the textile membrane is not so thick that it causes architectural difficulties when installed or requires special constructions. In particular, a thickness range from 700 ⁇ m to 1000 ⁇ m has proven to be the optimum range.
- the basis weight of the membrane is at least 600 gm -2 , preferably 700 gm -2 to 1800 gm -2 .
- the corresponding basis weights are in turn measured according to the type of requirement in architectural use, with the required strength and easy-to-design architectural use also having to be taken into account in connection with the thickness of the textile membrane explained above.
- the fabric layer can be provided with a coating on both sides.
- the coating can be formed from PVC coating layers. These coating layers preferably rest on both sides of the fabric layer, although it can also be provided that only an outer side of the fabric layer that is exposed to the weather during later use is provided with a corresponding PVC coating layer.
- a layer of lacquer can be applied to the outside of each PVC coating layer to close off the textile membrane.
- the paint layer can be made up of several layers, in particular with a liner layer and a top coat layer lying on top of it on the outside.
- a textile membrane according to the invention is used in all conceivable architectural applications. Any objects such as buildings or parts of buildings can be formed with or from a membrane according to the invention.
- a textile membrane is preferably used as the material for a building shell, for example in stadiums, air domes, tents or the like. An application as an awning can also be preferred.
- a fabric layer 2 is shown, which is present in a satin weave.
- the fabric layer 2 has warp threads 21 and weft threads 22 .
- the weft thread 22 runs under four warp threads 21 before this weft thread 22 changes over a warp thread 21 in order to then run under four warp threads 21 again.
- the individual crossing points (tie points) of the weft threads 22 with the warp threads 21 are offset from one another (pitch number).
- a corresponding fabric layer 2 is a central, i.e. central component of a textile membrane 1, which in 2 is shown schematically in a cross section.
- the membrane 1 has a fabric layer 2 which is present with a satin weave. This can in particular be a five-binding or eight-binding satin weave.
- the central fabric layer 2 is surrounded by a PVC coating layer 3 on both sides.
- the PVC coating layers 3 are in turn covered on the outside by lacquer coating layers 4, which close off the textile membrane 1 on the outside. Overall, this results in a multi-layer structure of the textile membrane 1.
- the individual PVC coating layers 3 can be applied in several coats. It is also possible that in the case of several lines, the individual PVC coating layers 3 have at least partially different compositions.
- inner PVC coating layers 3, which adjoin the central fabric layer 2 can be formed with a different composition for the purpose of intimate bonding than outer PVC coating layers 3, to which the lacquer coating layers 4 then adjoin.
- the PVC coating layers 3 also contain titanium dioxide and/or other white or colored pigments in addition to the usual auxiliaries and additives such as plasticizers, stabilizers or fillers and flame retardants.
- the PVC coating layers 3 are formed without phthalates.
- a thickness of the membrane 1 is usually in the range from 600 ⁇ m to 1200 ⁇ m.
- the PVC coating layers 3 cannot be used with the the same strength as in a satin weave 3 .
- the required strengths can also be achieved with a satin weave, but there are also significant advantages with regard to the formation of a thicker PVC coating layer 3, which subsequently allows better weather resistance to be achieved.
- the thickness of a PVC coating layer 3 can be optimized while achieving the required strength and fulfilling other architectural parameters, and at the same time the expansion behavior is improved since it is less asymmetrical. Finally, there is also improved transmitted light behavior and good haptics, since an outer surface is designed to be significantly smoother than according to the prior art.

Description
JP 2016-124204 A - Aus der
-
Fig. 1 eine schematische Darstellung einer Atlasbindung (fünfbindig, A 4/1 3); -
Fig. 5 ein Diagramm zu Dehnungsmessungen. - In
Fig. 2 schematisch in einem Querschnitt dargestellt ist.
