Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a method for equipping a bar of a warp knitting machine with knitting tools, in which the knitting tools are inserted into grooves in a needle bed of the bar, the grooves having a predetermined pitch and using knitting tools that are held in receptacles of an insertion tool have a predetermined pitch, the insertion tools having a body which is formed from a plastic material and the receptacles are designed as slots, the insertion tool being positioned on the needle bed and the knitting tools being transferred into the grooves using the insertion tool.
  • the invention further relates to an insertion tool that is suitable for this purpose.
  • the slide needles are arranged on a knitting needle bar and fastened there.
  • the knitting needle bar has a needle bed that is provided with grooves. Each slide needle is then inserted into such a groove.
  • Slider needles and other knitting tools are wearing parts that need to be replaced from time to time.
  • a worker When replacing the slide needles, a worker must remove the old slide needles from the needle bed and insert new slide needles. Due to the large number of slide needles, loading the knitting needle bar is very time-consuming. Since the slide needles outside the needle bed can also be easily damaged, for example by deformation, the assembly is also prone to errors.
  • the invention is based on the object of enabling high productivity of the warp knitting machine.
  • This object is achieved with a method of the type mentioned at the outset by using an insertion tool from which the knitting tools protrude from the receptacles of the insertion tool with a long side transverse to the longitudinal direction.
  • the knitting tools i.e. the slide needles in the present exemplary embodiment, are no longer individually removed from a packaging and each inserted into a groove in the needle bed. Rather, the knitting tools are arranged in groups in the insertion tool and are already attached to the division Grooves of the needle bed adjusted. The worker only has to bring the insertion tool with the knitting tools inside it to the needle bed and move the knitting tools from the insertion tool directly into the grooves of the needle bed. This keeps the time in which the knitting tools can be deformed because they are not sufficiently supported to a minimum. This keeps the risk of damage low. Furthermore, several knitting tools can be handled at the same time, so that the time for loading can also be kept short. Basically, only a one-time alignment process is required.
  • the insertion tool has the same pitch as the grooves of the needle bed, it is sufficient if the worker positions a single knitting tool so that it can be moved into the corresponding groove on the needle bed of the bar. The other knitting tools that are in the insertion tool are then automatically positioned correctly.
  • the long side of the knitting tools can then be inserted into the grooves of the needle bed, so that the knitting tools are held in a section of the assembly process by the needle bed on the one hand and by the insertion tool on the other. This keeps the risk of deformation of the knitting tools to a minimum. At the same time, it is ensured that all knitting tools contained in the insertion tool can be safely transferred into the grooves of the needle bed.
  • the insertion tool with the knitting tools is pressed towards the needle bed.
  • the long sides of the knitting tools are pressed into the grooves of the needle bed and are held there. This can practically happen simultaneously for all knitting tools that are accommodated in the insertion tool.
  • an insertion tool is used in which the knitting tools are held frictionally with a holding force that is greater than the weight of the knitting tools. You can then also use the insertion tool upside down, so that the knitting needles can also be placed in the direction of gravity from above can be inserted into the grooves of the needle bed, which is occasionally necessary. Even if the insertion tool has to be handled with a different orientation in order to mount the knitting tools on the bar, there is no risk that the knitting tools will fall out of the insertion tool under the effect of gravity.
  • the holding force is preferably smaller than a clamping force with which the knitting tools are held in the grooves of the needle bed.
  • the different forces can be easily generated, for example, by designing the grooves of the needle bed with a smaller tolerance than the receptacles of the insertion tool.
  • the receptacles of the insertion tool can be dimensioned in relation to the knitting tools in such a way that, on the one hand, the knitting tools cannot fall out under the effect of gravity, but on the other hand they can be pulled out of the receptacles when the knitting tools have been arranged in the grooves of the needle bed. It is not necessary that the knitting tools have already been completely inserted into the grooves of the needle bed.
  • the insertion tool is preferably tilted relative to a longitudinal extent of the knitting tools. This makes it easier to remove the insertion tool from the knitting tools.
  • the force required to remove the insertion tool from the knitting tools is, so to speak, distributed over a certain period of time, so that the overall force required to remove the insertion tool from the knitting tools can be kept small. This is also a way to ensure that the knitting tools are not moved out of the grooves of the needle bed when the insertion tool is removed.
  • the knitting tools are preferably pressed further into the grooves of the needle bed. So you allow the insertion tool to only press the knitting tools to a certain depth into the grooves of the needle bed and only then bring the knitting tools into their final position, for example by the pressure of the worker's finger or a corresponding tool. Such finger pressure is not critical because the knitting tools have already been slightly immersed in the grooves of the needle bed.
  • An insertion tool with a stop against which the knitting tools rest in the longitudinal direction is preferably used.
  • the knitting tools are then already aligned relative to one another in the insertion tool along their longitudinal extent, which further facilitates loading of the bar.
  • an insertion tool with a body which has receptacles with the predetermined pitch in which knitting tools are arranged, the body being formed from a plastic material and the receptacles being designed as slots, the knitting tools having a long side transverse to the longitudinal direction protrude from the receiving grooves.
  • a plastic material is sufficiently elastic so that the knitting tools can be held in the slots of the insertion tool with a certain amount of friction.
  • the insertion tool can then be handled with a certain degree of robustness without there being any risk of the knitting tools being damaged.
  • the body can be manufactured with the desired high level of precision. Tolerances in the order of hundredths of a millimeter can be achieved. Accordingly, it is possible in a simple manner to bring the pitch of the receptacle and the pitch of the grooves in the needle bed into agreement with the necessary accuracy. You can then Insert the knitting tools with these long sides into the grooves of the needle bed so that the knitting tools are fixed in these grooves. The insertion tool can then be removed.
  • knitting tools are arranged in the receptacles. You can then easily bring such an insertion tool to the needle bed of the bar and transfer the knitting tools directly from the insertion tool into the needle bed.
  • the knitting tools preferably protrude beyond the insertion tool in their longitudinal direction. The worker then has the opportunity to hold the knitting tools in the grooves of the needle bed when he removes the insertion tool from the knitting tools. This makes assembly easier.
  • the plastic material has a linear expansion coefficient per 1% water retention of less than 0.005.
  • a change in length per percent of water retention is only a few parts per mille. This is sufficient to maintain the pitch accuracy to such an extent that the knitting tools can be easily transferred from the insertion tool into the grooves of the needle bed.
  • a plastic material is, for example, an acrylate monomer or another acrylic plastic, preferably polymethyl methacrylate.
  • the plastic material can have further additives, for example a stabilizer.
  • the body preferably has a stop which is arranged transversely to the receptacles.
  • the knitting tools can then rest against this stop when they are mounted. Regardless of whether such a stop is present or not, the insertion tool can already be equipped with the knitting tools at the manufacturer of the knitting tools. This Loading can be done by machine, which is quick and reliable. The risk of damage to the knitting tools when loading the insertion tool can be kept small.
  • the body preferably has an extension transverse to the receptacles that is a maximum of 2 inches. This limits the number of knitting tools that can be transferred into the grooves of the needle bed of the bar at the same time. However, a limited width is easier to handle for the worker. In addition, the risk of the insertion tool bulging is low. You can achieve a flatness of well under 0.1 mm.
  • a friction-reducing agent is preferably arranged between the receptacles and the knitting tools.
  • a friction-reducing agent which can also be referred to as a "lubricant”
  • such a lubricant often also develops a certain adhesion, so that one can easily prevent the knitting tools from being placed or falling out of the receptacles of the insertion tool under the effect of gravity.
  • Fig. 1 shows a perspective view of an insertion tool 1, which can be used to create knitting tools 2 ( Figs. 2 and 3 ) in grooves 3 of a needle bed 4 of a bar, which is not shown in detail.
  • the insertion tool 1 has a body 5 which has a plurality of receptacles 6 for the knitting tools 2.
  • the recordings 6 are separated from each other by webs 7.
  • the webs 7 are shown here with an exaggerated thickness. Depending on the fineness used, they can be relatively thin. Currently a realistic minimum value is around 0.15 mm.
  • the width of the receptacles 6 corresponds to the corresponding width of the knitting tools 2.
  • the recordings 6 are open to one side of the insertion tool 1.
  • a stop 8 is provided, against which the knitting tools 2 rest with one end 9. This is preferably the end at which the knitting tools 2 have a needle foot 10.
  • the other end of the knitting tools 2 with a needle head 11 protrudes from the open end of the receptacles 6, as can be seen from Fig. 3 can recognize.
  • the receptacles 6 have a slightly larger tolerance with respect to the knitting tools 2 than the grooves 3 of the needle bed 4.
  • the body 5, which is formed in one piece with the webs 7, is made of a plastic material formed, which is elastic within certain limits.
  • the knitting tools 2 can therefore be held in the receptacles 6 with a friction fit.
  • the stop 8 enables all knitting tools 2 to be aligned in the insertion tool 1 in the longitudinal direction of the knitting tools 2.
  • the force with which the insertion tool 1 holds the knitting tools 2 is greater than the weight of the knitting tools 2. It is therefore possible, as in Fig. 2 shown to handle the insertion tool 1 in such a way that the knitting tools 2 are arranged below in the direction of gravity without the knitting tools 2 falling out of the insertion tool 1.
  • the knitting tools are held in the grooves 3 of the needle holder 4 of the bar with a certain clamping force as soon as the knitting tools 2 have been inserted into the grooves 3. For this purpose, it is sufficient to insert the knitting tools 2 into the grooves 3 over a relatively small distance. How to get in Fig. 2 can recognize, it is not necessary to insert the knitting tools 2 into the grooves 3 as far as they will go. Rather, you can already remove the insertion tool 1 from the knitting tools 2 when the knitting tools 2 have been inserted over 1 to 2 mm into the grooves 3 of the needle bed 4.
  • the knitting tools 2 protrude from the insertion tool 1 at one end. If the worker has positioned the knitting tools 2 in the grooves 3 of the needle bed 4 using the insertion tool 1, he can use his finger or a corresponding tool to hold the protruding end of the knitting tools 2 and press it into the grooves 3 of the needle bed 4 and then press the insertion tool 1 decrease.
  • a lubricant or a friction-reducing agent between the knitting tools 2 and the insertion tool 1.
  • a lubricant can be, for example, an oil or the like.
  • such a lubricant has a certain adhesion effect, so that the knitting tools 2 are held in the receptacles 6 against the effect of gravity.
  • such a lubricant makes it easier to remove the insertion tool 1 from the knitting tools 2.
  • the insertion tool 1 it is not necessary for the insertion tool 1 to press the knitting tools 2 completely, i.e. up to the stop, into the grooves 3 of the needle bed 4.
  • the worker can press the knitting tools 2 further into the grooves 3 of the needle bed 4 until the knitting tools 2 rest on the bottom of the grooves 3.
  • the knitting tools 2 can then be fixed to the needle bed 4 of the bar in the usual way, for example using a cover.
