Definitions

  • the invention relates to a knitting tool suitable for use in a groove of a bar of a warp knitting machine, with an elongate metal knitting element which has a functional section and a shank section, the knitting tool having a plurality of knitting elements connected to one another, and between adjacent knitting elements of the knitting tool in each case a connecting piece of the knitting tool is arranged, which spaced the knitting elements apart and connects them to one another in a materially bonded manner.
  • Warp knitting machines have knitting tools that process warp threads into a textile material, a so-called knitted fabric, in a knitting process. Warp knitting machines also have a plurality of bars, with a plurality of knitting tools being arranged on each bar. Since a large number of knitting tools can be moved simultaneously by means of a bar, a large number of stitches are formed simultaneously during the knitting process. This is the reason for the particularly high production output of warp knitting machines. The individual knitting tools are exposed to a very large mechanical load, particularly at high production speeds.
  • Knitting tools are often attached directly to the bars of warp knitting machines, as shown in EP 3 354 782 A1 is shown. There are grooves in the bar introduced, in which the knitting tools are used. The knitting tools are attached to the bar by means of a needle bar cover, which is screwed onto the bar and holds the knitting tools securely in the grooves. This type of attachment of knitting tools on the bar has compared to the use of knitting tool mounts, such as those from EP 2 570 540 B1 are known, the advantage that knitting tools can be replaced individually when they are worn or otherwise defective.
  • a knitting tool holder combines several knitting tools, which, however, can only be exchanged in groups. The use of knitting tool holders and fasteners for attaching them to the bar can result in a higher bar weight. This has a negative effect on the machine dynamics.
  • the US4137730A describes a needle holding assembly for a warp knitting machine that includes spacers that serve to space adjacent knitting needles apart.
  • the DE 102015010016 A1 describes a knitting needle having a metal needle head and a plastic needle shaft.
  • the EP 1600543 A1 describes a knitting tool bar made of a fiber-reinforced plastic.
  • the EP 2578733 A1 describes knitting tools each consisting of several interconnected knitting needles. This has the advantage that a number of knitting needles can be actuated simultaneously by a needle selection device of a knitting machine, because the knitting needles are combined into one knitting tool. The knitting needles are connected to one another in their foot area, resulting in a solid foot section which the needle selection device can engage with.
  • the invention is therefore based on the object of providing an knitting tool with a plurality of knitting elements that brings about a particularly good stabilizing effect, requires little material and can be easily inserted into a groove.
  • the object is achieved by a knitting tool of the kind described above, wherein according to the invention the connecting piece between the adjacent knitting elements is arranged completely above a lower sixth of the knitting elements, starting from one foot of the knitting elements.
  • the foot surfaces are located on the active elements opposite their functional sections. As has been found, with the described arrangement of the connecting piece between the active elements, a particularly good stabilizing effect is achieved.
  • the knitting tool has a plurality of knitting elements connected to one another.
  • the knitting tool according to the invention thus has two or more knitting elements.
  • the knitting tool is wider than a conventional knitting tool and can therefore only be inserted into a particularly wide groove provided for this purpose. Since each knitting tool has several knitting elements, far fewer assembly steps are required. As a result, the bar can be equipped much more quickly.
  • the active elements connected to one another stabilize one another, so that a deformation of the active elements is counteracted.
  • the functional sections of the active elements can be a needle hook, a needle head with an eyelet or the like.
  • the shank section of the active element is an elongated section of the Active element, which is at least partially arranged within a groove of a bar when used as intended.
  • the functional section on the other hand, stands out from Barre.
  • the shank section also forms a foot of the active element.
  • the active elements are preferably aligned parallel to one another.
  • the active elements are advantageously arranged in alignment with one another.
  • a connecting piece of the knitting tool is arranged in each case between adjacent knitting elements of the knitting tool, which connects the knitting elements at a distance from one another and connects them to one another in a materially bonded manner.
  • the connecting piece keeps the active elements at a distance. It has been found that a cohesive connection of the active elements contributes to effective mutual stabilization.
  • the connecting piece is web-shaped, ie the connecting piece forms a narrow connecting element between adjacent active elements.
  • the bar-shaped connecting piece can be round or flat. It is alternatively possible for the connecting piece to have a different shape, for example it can extend flatly between the adjacent active elements.
  • the connecting piece acts on flanks of the adjacent active elements that face one another.
  • the flanks of the active elements offer a sufficiently large surface area for attaching the connecting piece to the active elements.
  • the flanks are able to absorb forces particularly well.
  • Connector engages other surface portions of the active elements.
  • the connecting piece acts exclusively on the mutually facing flanks of the adjacent active elements. This results in a compact construction of the knitting tool.
  • the adjacent active elements it is possible for the adjacent active elements to be connected to one another exclusively by the connecting piece. There are no other connecting elements between or on the active elements, which connect the active elements to each other. The total weight of the knitting tool is thereby kept as low as possible.
  • the connecting piece is arranged in alignment with the active elements.
  • a compact design of the knitting tool results from the flush arrangement of the connecting piece to the knitting elements.
  • the knitting tool can be packed and transported in a space-saving manner.
  • the connecting piece is preferably made of a plastic and is glued to the active elements adjoining the connecting piece. This causes sufficient stabilization of the active elements.
  • a polyamide can be selected as the plastic, for example, but other plastics can also be used.
  • the connecting piece can be made of metal, with a metal-to-material connection between the connecting piece and the active elements adjoining it.
  • the metallic connection of the active elements has proven to be particularly durable. It is preferred if the connecting piece is welded to the active elements adjoining it. Accordingly, the knitting tool is produced by initially providing a plurality of knitting elements. The active elements are aligned parallel to one another, with a connecting piece being arranged between adjacent active elements.
  • the connecting piece can consist of the same metal as the active elements. According to the invention, however, it is also possible for the connecting piece to consist of a different metal than the active elements.
  • the knitting tool is designed in one piece.
  • Such a knitting tool can be cast in one piece, for example by means of a casting process. The result is a particularly stable connection between the active elements and the connecting pieces.
  • the knitting tool consists of two knitting elements and a connecting piece.
  • the knitting tool therefore has only two knitting elements and one connecting piece. This arrangement has proven to be particularly stable. Although knitting tools with a larger number of knitting elements allow the bar to be loaded even more quickly, the stability decreases with an increasing number of knitting elements.
  • the knitting elements are preferably knitting needles. These are exposed to particularly large forces when warp knitting. According to the invention, however, the knitting elements can also be perforated needles or other knitting tools. In the arrangement according to the invention, a compound needle is preferably used as the knitting needle. According to the invention, however, it can also be a knitting needle of a different type, such as a latch needle or a press needle.
  • the invention also relates to a warp knitting machine with a bar and with knitting elements arranged in the bar, each knitting element having a shaft section and a functional section, and the bar having grooves for Having recording the active elements. It has been observed that the active elements deform transversely to a longitudinal axis of the bar at high production speeds.
  • the object of the invention is therefore to stabilize the knitting tools in the grooves of the bar. The object is achieved by arranging a knitting tool in accordance with the above statements in each groove. Thus, the active elements stabilize each other. Two or more interconnected active elements are arranged in each groove.
  • the warp knitting machine can have one or more needle bar covers that close the grooves laterally.
  • the bar can be a needle bar, a guide bar or a bar with some other functionality of the warp knitting machine.
  • the connecting piece is arranged inside the groove. This means that the connection piece is in the groove when the knitting tool is arranged as intended in the bar. There is a support effect of the connecting piece on the bar. In an alternative embodiment of the invention, the connecting piece is arranged outside the groove.
  • the groove is dimensioned in such a way that two outer active elements of the active tool rest with their shank section on the lamellae of the bar.
  • the lamellae separate the grooves from each other.
  • the knitting tool is stabilized and fixed in the bar.
  • the knitting tool 1 shows a schematic view of a first variant of the knitting tool 1 according to the invention.
  • the knitting tool 1 has two knitting elements 2 .
  • Each active element 2 has a shank section 3 and a functional section 4.
  • the functional section 4 is a needle hook.
  • a connecting piece 5 of the knitting tool 1 connects the two knitting elements 2 to one another.
  • Both the active elements 2 and the connecting piece 5 consist of a metal.
  • the connecting piece 5 is welded to two flanks 6 of the active elements 2 facing one another.
  • This knitting tool 1 has only two knitting elements 2 .
  • the knitting tool 1 shows a schematic view of a second variant of the knitting tool 1 according to the invention.
  • the knitting tool 1 has five knitting elements 2.
  • Two outer knitting elements 7 and three inner knitting elements 8 can be distinguished.
  • Neighboring active elements 2 are each connected to one another by connecting pieces 5 . This Due to the relatively large number of active elements 2 per active tool 1, the knitting tool 1 allows a bar to be loaded particularly quickly.
  • FIG. 3 shows a section of a bar 9 of a warp knitting machine according to the invention in a schematic view.
  • the bar 9 has a plurality of grooves 10 which have been milled into the bar 9 .
  • One of the grooves 10 is left empty as an example.
  • a knitting tool 1 according to the invention is arranged in each of the other grooves 10 .
  • Each knitting tool 1 has two knitting elements 2 which are each connected to one another by means of a connecting piece 5 .
  • the connecting piece 5 stabilizes the active elements 2 in particular against forces which act transversely to a longitudinal axis 11 of the bar 9 .
  • Mutual stabilization of the interconnected active elements 2 occurs.
  • a shank section 3 of each active element 2 bears against a lamella 12 .
  • the active elements 2 are thus fixed in the bar 9 in such a way that they cannot be displaced in the direction of the longitudinal axis 11 of the bar 9 .
  • the active elements 2 are also each seated with a foot 13 on a groove bottom
