Description

DOMAINE DE L'INVENTIONFIELD OF THE INVENTION

The present invention relates in general to the field of equipment for the practice of equestrian sports. It relates in particular to a stirrup strap making it possible to connect, preferably with an effective length adjustment capacity, a stirrup to a saddle.

ARRIERE-PLAN TECHNOLOGIQUETECHNOLOGICAL BACKGROUND

A stirrup strap is the organ that flexibly connects a riding stirrup to a saddle.

This stirrup leather is conventionally provided with a strap comprising at one end a loop and at the other end a series of holes making it possible to vary the useful length, exactly like a belt.

This stirrup strap passes through a metal part integral with the saddle called the knife and through an oblong opening in the stirrup.

A classic stirrup strap therefore has a double thickness to which must be added, near the knife, the buckle and the excess length of the strap which is usually released in a loop located at the back of the saddle.

These thicknesses cause discomfort for the rider and wear the saddles. In addition, the two strands of the strap of these traditional stirrup leathers have movements such that they are liable to create pinching and friction which make it almost compulsory to use boots or gaiters on pain of bruising or injury.

To avoid this double thickness, there are monofilament stirrups. Patent publication FR 3027892 A1 presents in this context a monofilament stirrup which allows an adjustment of its length by a means of blocking the stirrup strand; this means is located near the caliper, which makes its handling inconvenient for a rider and is in the form of a protruding member, therefore bulky. We also know from the patent publication DE 202014 002916 U1 a connection between a stirrup and a horse saddle ring. The inner surface of a strap is applied to an upper face of the ring when a tensile force is applied downward.

It is therefore an object of the invention to at least partially overcome the drawbacks of current techniques. An object of the invention is to improve the method of mounting the stirrup relative to the saddle. An optional object is to arrange for this mounting to allow more convenient length adjustment.

RESUME DE L'INVENTIONSUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The invention consists of a stirrup leather as described in claim 1 and a method as described in claim 15. The dependent claims 2-14 relate to particular embodiments of this invention.

The stirrup comprises a stop member carried by the second portion of the upper part and configured to apply to the knife against a tensile force on the strap directed towards the part. lower to tend to prevent the lower part from moving away from the knife.

Thus, a member carried by the strap makes it possible to stop the stirrup in translation by operating in conjunction with the knife. This stirrup strap is thus single-stranded, therefore of reduced overall thickness, and the stop member is carried by a portion located towards its free end, which does not require complex means for retaining the strap relative to the saddle in the configuration of operation. Preferably, this member is removable to allow, if necessary, an adjustment of its length from its upper part, that is to say within immediate reach of the rider.

Another aspect of the present invention relates to a stirrup system comprising a knife connectable to a saddle and a stirrup leather according to one of claims 1 to 12.

Another aspect of the invention relates to a saddle equipped with the stirrup system according to claim 13 and / or with a stirrup leather according to one of claims 1 to 12.

  • l'organe de butée 60 est configuré pour s'opposer à la traction sur la sangle 40 en direction de la partie inférieure 41 de la sangle 40, uniquement par appui sur le couteau 30 ;
Optionally, the following options are also possible:
  • strap 40 includes a plurality of holes 9 along strap 40;
  • the stop member 60 is carried only by the second portion 44 of the upper part 42 of the strap 40;
  • the stop member 60 is configured to oppose the traction on the strap 40 in the direction of the lower part 41 of the strap 40, only by pressing on the knife 30;
  • the knife 30 has a branch 32 around which the strap 40 makes a bend by resting on an inner edge of the branch 32, the stop member 60 being configured to rest on the outer edge, opposite the edge inner, branch 32.

The figure 1 illustrates a saddle 1 which may, in a conventional manner, have a seat portion capable of being placed on the back of the animal and two sides 2 extending at the level of the sides of the animal from the part of sitting in the direction of the legs. The saddle 1 presented is equipped, on either side of the sides 2, with stirrups 50 allowing the rider to rest his feet thereon. The mechanical connection between the saddle 1 and the stirrups 50 is ensured through a stirrup strap comprising a strap 40 extending substantially from a portion of the saddle located at or slightly below the seat portion and the level of height corresponding to brackets 50.

The strap 40 comprises a lower part 41, here again optionally called the first part, which can be connected to the stirrup 50. For example, the stirrup 50 is equipped with an eye 51 through which the free end of the first part. part of the strap 40 can be introduced by forming a loop serving to secure the strap 40 in the eye 51. According to a non-limiting possibility, the eye 51 and the body of the stirrup 50 cooperate in a removable manner; one can in particular form an eye 51 configured to automatically separate from the body of the caliper 50 beyond a given force threshold and / or beyond a predetermined angle formed between the strap 40 and the stirrup 50. It is thus possible to form an ejectable device increasing the safety of the rider in the event of a fall.

The part of the strap 40 opposite to the lower part 41 corresponds to its upper part 42, again possibly called the second part. It is at the level of part 42 that the strap is connected to the saddle 1. According to the invention, the stirrup comprises a single strap 40, that is to say that it is single-stranded according to the portion of its length extending between the bottom 41 and the upper part 42. This embodiment is less bulky than the straps forming a continuous belt connecting the stirrup and the top of the saddle.

At the level of the upper part 42 of the strap 40, the saddle 1 is equipped at the level of each side 2 with a knife 30 cooperating with the upper part 42. Such a knife 30 is particularly visible on the other side. figure 2 at which the knife 30 is a body, for example of a metallic nature, comprising a hooking part 31 allowing attachment to the saddle 1 in a zone 33. Below the hooking part 31, the latter and connected by a bend to a branch 32 forming a hook zone. Advantageously, the branch 32 has a free distal end defining, with the hooking part 31, a lateral opening through which the stirrup can be introduced or extracted. Optionally, it is possible to provide means allowing the closing of this lateral opening or else means preventing the untimely extraction of the stirrup, in particular thanks to a rim 34, an example of which is illustrated on figure 2 .

It will be understood that the function of the knife 30 is to suspend the stirrup in a position of use of the saddle 1. In particular, the weight of the lower part of the assembly made up of the stirrup and the stirrup, as well as that the tensile forces on the strap generated by the rider are transmitted to the saddle 1 at least mainly but preferably exclusively by the knife 30. To perform this recovery of forces, the upper part of the stirrup should be configured to transmit the forces to the knife 30.

To this end, the invention proposes the formation of a stop member 60 held in position relative to the strap 40 and allowing, in the position of use on the saddle 1, to form a stop cooperating with a complementary portion of the knife. 30 also forming a stop so as to prohibit the translational movement of the strap 40 downwards, to ensure the retention of the stirrup relative to the saddle despite the forces applied to the latter and tending to produce a traction from top to bottom .

In this view, the upper part 42 of the strap 40 forms a bend around the branch 32 of the knife 30 thus defining a first portion 43 of the upper part 42 located in the continuity of the rest of the strap, in the direction of the lower part 41, and a second portion 44 forming a folded zone of the strap around the knife 30 and comprising the distal end 45 of the strap 40. Advantageously, this end 45 is free in the sense that it is not connected to another part of the stirrup. Preferably, the bend effected by the upper part 42 around the knife 30 is configured to expose the first portion 43 outwardly and so that the second portion 44 is located towards the rear of the first portion 43. Thus, the second portion 44 is advantageously applied to the side 2 of the saddle 1.

La figure 1 montre par ailleurs un rabat 8 équipant la selle 1 et assurant un recouvrement du couteau et de la portion de l'étrivière située au niveau du couteau 30.Optionally, an angular offset may exist between the preferential direction of the part of the strap 40 comprising the first portion 43 (this direction being generally substantially vertical in the position of use of the saddle 1) and the second portion 44. This offset appears at figures 1 and 2 . Indeed, a deflection element of the second portion 44 can be formed on the saddle 5, in particular in the form of at least one loop or in the form of a slot 7 making it possible to avoid an unbalance effect of the saddle. second portion 44 and possibly to expose the stop member 60 more strongly to facilitate its handling. The figure 1 also shows a flap 8 fitted to the saddle 1 and ensuring a covering of the knife and of the portion of the stirrup located at the level of the knife 30.

As indicated above, the stop member 60 prevents the strap 40 from moving in translation relative to the knife 30 at least in the direction of translation corresponding to the application of a force tending to pull on the lower part 41 of the strap. 40. To this end, the figure 3a shows an example of cooperation between the knife 30 and the stop member 60. The stop member 60 is fixedly mounted on the second portion 44 of the upper part 42 of the strap 40. Its upper end in this situation forms an edge proximal 61 defining, along a dimension in thickness of the strap 42, a surface capable of coming into contact with a cooperating surface of the knife 30, advantageously at its branch 32. In this configuration, the stop member 60 is placed under the knife and in contact with it. This cooperating surface is typically formed by the edge 35 of the branch 32 directed towards the bottom of the saddle 1. The edge 35 can in particular be flat at this level. It can also be directed horizontally in the position of use of the saddle 1. Optionally, other shapes and positions of the edge 35 are possible. For example, the wafer 35 could have a convex curvilinear profile, contrary to the indication in the figures.

In the case of the various figures, the stop member 60 has the form of a body extending along the length dimension 10 of the strap and of which the proximal edge 61 is the upper end. It comprises a proximal portion 68 carrying the proximal edge 61, a middle portion 67 and a distal portion 69, forming the lower part of the member 60. In the case shown, the member 60 has the shape of an H whose transverse bar is formed by the middle part 67. In general, the middle part 67 may have a width smaller than that of the other parts. The stop member 60 can be made in one piece, made from a single material, for example plastic or preferably aluminum, optionally with projecting elements made of steel. Everything can be steel. It is preferably made of a rigid material. Preferably, the stop member 60 has symmetry along a plane defined by the thickness and the length dimension 10 of the strap 40. This symmetry is advantageously located at the level of the middle part of the strap 40. In addition, it is advantageous that the dimension in thickness of at least a part of the member 60, by which the contact with the wafer is likely to be formed (typically forming a protuberance beyond the face of the strap), either at less equal to the thickness of the strap (which may in particular be 7 mm). Preferably, this thickness of the member 60 beyond the strap is at least twice the thickness of the strap. According to another advantageous possibility, this protrusion thickness of the member 60 is between 60% and 140% of the thickness dimension of the knife 30. By way of additional example, the invention can be used on a strap 40 having a width of between 20 and 30 millimeters, and in particular 25 mm. The length dimension of the stop member 60 may for example be between 30 and 50 millimeters, in particular 35 mm.

According to an embodiment not shown, the strap 40 has different widths in the lower part 41 and in the upper part 42 (at least in the area of the part 42 which cooperates with the stop member 60). This makes it possible, for example, to standardize the adjustable fixing part of the stirrup strap (for example with a single size of stop member 60) while leaving the saddlers great freedom in designing the rest of the stirrup strap 40.

It may be a portion of circular section. In this configuration, it is desirable that the apex of the convex curvilinear profile is located at the level of the middle of the width of the member 60. By width is meant the dimension perpendicular to the length dimension and to the thickness dimension of the strap. . Thanks to this arrangement, a rolling effect of the proximal edge 61 on the edge 35 of the knife 30 is produced so as to facilitate the modifications of angular positions of the second portion 44 of the upper part 42 of the strap 40.

In fact, the proximal edge 61 has a profile 63 therein, along a plane defined by the thickness dimension and the length dimension of the strap 40, of curvilinear nature convex. As in the case of the profile 62, it may be a section in a portion of a circle. This profile 63 preferably gives the proximal edge 61 a tapered shape of decreasing thickness towards the end of the member 60. Thanks to this arrangement, in the event of strong traction transmitted to the second portion 44 by a tensile force from the first portion 43, the stop member 60 will tend to operate a pivotal movement relative to the knife 30 tending to keep the proximal edge 61 resting on the edge 35.

In a particularly advantageous manner, the relative position of the stop member 60 and of the strap 40 is adjustable, in particular to modify the overall length of the stirrup. To achieve this, the stop member 60 is preferably mounted in an at least partially removable manner relative to the upper part 42 of the strap 40, in the sense that the locking in translation is inactivated. In the examples given in the figures, the stop member 60 has the function of a shuttle capable of translating along the strap 40 and to be stopped in position a predetermined level of the length dimension of the strap 40. It is not excluded that the stop member 60 has other mobilities relative to the strap 40 and may be the subject of an adjustment. Furthermore, the stop member 60 can be completely removable.

The case shown gives the advantage of ensuring a certain permanent cooperation between the stop member 60 and the strap 40 insofar as the stop member 60 is guided in translation on the strap 40 without escaping completely. At the same time, the member 60 can be adjusted along the strap 40. This aspect of the invention can be implemented by a removable device for fixing the member 60. According to the illustrated possibility, the removable device fixing comprises a slide 64 made on the stop member 60 so as to ensure the guiding in translation of the latter and to eliminate other potential mobilities of the member 60. The figures 4a and 4b show an exemplary embodiment of the slide 64 in the form of a contour formed forming a loop directed along the width dimension of the strap 40 around the latter. For example, the strap 40 can be threaded through the slide 64.

The removable device for fixing the member 60 furthermore preferably comprises a removable system preventing relative translation between the member 60 and the strap 40. One embodiment of this system comprises one or more projecting elements 65 forming protuberances at- beyond a face of the stop member 60 located opposite the strap 40 and one or more holes 9 able to cooperate with the elements 65. The elements 65 may be studs of conical or frustoconical section to facilitate the insertion into the holes 9.

De cette façon, un mouvement relatif entre l'organe de butée 60 et la sangle 40 reste possible à l'endroit des éléments saillants 65 même lorsque que la glissière 64 est active, comme le montre les figures 4a et 4b.Preferably, the holes 9 are aligned along the length dimension 10 of the strap 40 (purely by way of illustration, the spacing between two adjacent holes 9 may be 10 mm; their diameter may for example be 6 to 7 mm) and equip at least one zone of the upper part 42 of the strap 40. The number of projecting elements 65 is not limited and the figures show two elements 65 following one another along the length dimension 10 of the strap 40 and spaced apart. so as to cooperate with two holes 9. De preferably, the projecting elements 65 are located in a zone of the stop member 60 not equipped with the slide 64. In this way, a relative movement between the stop member 60 and the strap 40 remains possible at the location of the protruding elements 65 even when the slide 64 is active, as shown in the figures 4a and 4b .

The removable device for fixing the stop member 60 relative to the strap 40 may further include a complementary translational guidance system. In particular, the figures 4a and 4b have two tabs 66 located on either side of the stop member 60 so as to rest on opposite edges of the strap 40. The tabs 66 advantageously face each other and can be of the same size. Advantageously, the spacing between the tabs 66 in the width direction of the strap is less (for example from 5% to 10%) than the width of the strap 40 so as to produce a braking effect against the translation between the strap 40 the stop member 60 and / or to limit the propensity of the stop member 60 to escape from the strap 40 outside the zone comprising the slide 64.

It will be noted that the embodiment, described here for the realization of the removable fixing of the stop member 60, has the advantage of allowing the use of strap 40 of relatively simple or even conventional design. This embodiment is not, however, limiting and more complex fixing means could be carried by the strap 40. For example, it is possible to form crenellations at the level of the opposite edges of the strap 40 so as to cooperate with stops, which can be equivalent to the lugs 66 illustrated, to stop the stop member 60. In addition, it is not absolutely necessary in any configuration that the projecting elements 65 cooperate with holes 9 in the strap 40. For example, the element or elements protrusions 65 may be claws capable of ensuring the retention of the stop member 60 by insertion into the material of the strap 40. It is also possible to use an eccentric system carrying the protruding element or elements 65 and configured to act on the control of a lever so as to exert a pressure of the projecting elements 65 on the surface of the strap when the fixing is desired.

Portion proximale 41. Partie inférieure 69. Portion distale 42. Partie supérieure With reference to the figure 5 , an example of use of the stirrup according to the invention is described. In this figure, the stirrup strap 40 is placed on the knife 30 forming a bend between the first portion 43 and the second portion 44 of the upper part 42 of the strap 40. The user, in particular by a movement corresponding to that of the figure 4a , operates a removal of a part of the stop member 60 comprising the protruding element or elements 65 relative to the strap 40. The elements 65 escape from the holes 9 releasing the relative translation between the member 60 and the second portion 44. According to one possibility, the operator maintains this partial relative spacing of the member 60 and of the strap 40 during a traction movement on the first portion 43 of the strap 40 allowing a translation of the strap 40 following a displacement. set by user. Generally, the rider will be able to slide the stirrup strap for easier access to the stop member 60 and to modify the position of the member 60. When the position desired by the user is reached, the latter reposition the member. 60 completely against the second portion 44 of the strap 40 so that the protruding element or elements 65 fit into holes 9. According to this procedure, the length of the stirrup is increased. If it is desired to reduce it, similar operations can be implemented by exerting on the other hand a traction on the strap 40 from the second portion 44 tending to lengthen the latter. <b><u>REFERENCES</u></b> 1.
