Claims (11)

  1. A rail (100) grinder (1) configured to travel on a railway or similar track, and comprising:
    - at least one inner combustion engine (2),
    - at least one grinding tool (3) comprising a grinding head (4) including a grinding wheel (4a) driven in rotation according to an axis of rotation (R2) by the inner combustion engine (2),
    - a chassis (5) intended to be arranged on the two rails (100) of a track, said chassis (5) being configured to be movable in translation in at least one first direction (D1) along the rails and to displace the engine (2) and the grinding tool (3) in at least one second direction (D2), substantially perpendicular to the first direction (D1) and transversely to the rails (100),
    characterized in that the grinding tool (3) is pivotally mounted on the chassis (5) and being configured to pivot about a first substantially secant axis of rotation (R1) and preferably perpendicular to the axis of rotation (R2) of the grinding wheel (4a) in an angular range of at least substantially 180°, while the engine (2) is mounted on the chassis (5) in a non-pivoting and independent manner compared to the grinding tool (3).
  2. The grinder according to claim 1, wherein the chassis (5) comprises a guiding frame (6) configured to displace the engine (2) and the grinding tool (3) in at least the second direction (D2).
  3. The grinder according to claim 2, wherein the guiding frame (6) comprises an adjustment device (7) comprising a movable carriage (7a) configured to slide along the guiding frame (6).
  4. The grinder according to claim 3, wherein at least the engine (2) and the grinding tool (3) are positioned on the movable carriage (7a).
  5. The grinder according to any one of claims 3 or 4, wherein the guiding frame (6) comprises a height adjustment element (7c) arranged on the movable carriage (7a).
  6. The grinder according to any one of claims 2 to 5, wherein the guiding frame (6) comprises at least one first transverse guiding column (6a) arranged substantially parallel to a transverse bar (5b) equipping the chassis (5) and a second guiding column (6b) arranged at a distance from the first guiding column (6a) in a substantially parallel manner, the first guiding column (6a) and the second guiding column (6b) being kept at a distance from one another by at least one spacing tube (6c) extending substantially perpendicularly to the first guiding column (6a) according to a substantially vertical axis.
  7. The grinder according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein the engine (2) is arranged at the rear of the chassis (5) while the grinding tool (3) is arranged at the front of the chassis (5).
  8. The grinder according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein the grinding tool (3) comprises a casing (3a) and the grinding head (4) comprising a protection cowl (12) of the grinding wheel (4a), said protection cowl (12) being carried out in two portions (12a, 12b).
  9. The grinder according to the preceding claim, wherein the first portion (12a) of the cowl (12) is shaped to cover an upper portion of the grinding wheel (4a) and configured to be displaced in translation according to an axis of translation collinear with the axis of rotation (R2) of the grinding wheel (4a) between a folding position in which the first portion (12a) of the cowl (12) is completely arranged on the casing (3a) of the grinding tool (3), and a deployment position in which an upper portion of the grinding wheel (4a) is covered by the first portion (12a) of the cowl (12), the first portion (12a) of the cowl (12) extending into the expansion of the casing (3a) of the grinding tool (3).
  10. The grinder according to any one of the preceding claims, comprising a transmission device (8) preferably comprising a transmission belt (9) and an angular transmission (10), the inner combustion engine (2) being coupled to the grinding tool (3) via said transmission device (8).
  11. The grinder according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein the grinding wheel (4a) is removable and interchangeable and can be for example a grinding cup or a grinding stone.
