Definitions
- the invention relates to a lunging belt for horses.
- Lunging straps are used to attach auxiliary reins - for example, to achieve a desired head posture for the horse - or to guide the lunge towards the bridle, especially in the case of a double lunge.
- These lunging belts are a belt strapped over or just behind the withers around the horse's pluck, to which metal rings are attached at different heights, to which auxiliary reins can be attached or passed through the lunge.
- Such a lunging belt is, for example, in DE 92 07 548 U1 . DE 10 2007 034 068 A1 , and BE 1015248 A6 shown.
- the invention has for its object to provide an improved lunging compared to the known prior art.
- the invention relates to a lunging belt for horses comprising a belt strap which can be secured on the horse's torso and has a backrest which extends transversely to the longitudinal direction of the belt strap on both sides and which on one side of the belt strap has a central recess for the withers of a horse which is open on one side and which is formed by one to both Side of the recess on the backrest attached gullet is spanned, and which at least away from the central area has a higher stiffness than the webbing in continuation of the recess, and wherein rings for fastening and / or both on the belt and on the backrest apart from the webbing Implementation of reins and / or lunge are provided.
- a "one-sided open recess of the backrest to one side of the webbing" refers to a recess that begins at an edge of the backrest in the direction of the webbing or the area of the backrest, which, when the webbing is interrupted by the backrest, is regarded as an imaginary linear continuation of the webbing can be extended, but this does not fundamentally cut.
- the flow of force through the webbing due to the tensile stress when the lodging belt is fastened in the longitudinal direction of the webbing should not be disturbed, or should only be insignificant.
- An insignificant disruption of the power flow can be assumed if the recess is max. 20%, preferably at max. 15% of the width of the webbing extends into the webbing or the webbing area of the backrest.
- “Gullet iron” is a rigid and rigid component, often but not necessarily made of metal, which is used to determine the relative position of two areas connected to it.
- the invention is based on the finding that, in the case of lunging belts according to the prior art, the freedom of movement of a horse is regularly restricted, since it affects cartilage or Squeeze bones and make movement of the muscles difficult.
- the lunging belt according to the invention has a back support which, on the one hand, has a higher rigidity than the webbing and, on the other hand, is provided with a cutout for the withers, which means that the webbing is guided advantageously on the horse and the load is significantly less restrictive of the horse is reached.
- the backrest extends to both sides of the webbing and has a higher rigidity, it is immediately apparent that the forces exerted on the horse in the area of the horse's back by the lunging belt are distributed over a larger area than would be possible with a webbing alone.
- the stiffness of the backrest over the spine of the horse is ensured - especially with a low stiffness of the backrest in the central area - by the gullet plate, which connects the areas of the backrest lying on both sides of the central area or the spine with greater rigidity ,
- the gullet also ensures that the areas of the backrest lying on both sides of the spine are not pulled together like pliers by the belt.
- the recess provided together with the gullet extending over it can furthermore avoid that the horse's withers are stressed. Since the cutout should continue to extend to one side of the belt, it is further ensured that the belt strap runs behind the withers around the torso of a horse when the lunging belt according to the invention is used properly. These measures ensure that the horse's shoulder cartilage and the surrounding muscles are flexible not or in comparison to the prior art only significantly less stressed and restricted and greater elbow freedom is achieved.
- the lunging belt according to the invention does not slip on the horse's back when properly used.
- the provided rings for attaching and / or carrying auxiliary reins and / or lunge both on the backrest and on the belt strap make various straps and guides of auxiliary reins and / or lunge possible.
- the belt strap is fastened to the backrest by means of screw connections.
- Appropriate screw connections ensure simple and quick replacement of the webbing, for example in the event of damage or to adapt the lunging belt to a particular horse.
- a plurality of screw holes for selection and / or part of the screw holes are designed as elongated holes on the belt strap and / or the backrest for adapting the position and orientation of the belt strap relative to the backrest.
- Appropriately designed or provided (additional) holes make it possible to adjust the position and / or angular position of the belt strap in relation to the backrest and thus adapt it to the respective horse. In particular, it is thus possible to relieve the horse's sternum by suitably arranging the webbing.
- the gullet is preferably attached to the backrest in a replaceable manner.
- the attachment to the backrest can preferably be designed as a releasable screw connection.
- the lunging belt according to the invention can be adapted to the width of the horse's back, so that a possible large-area contact of the backrest the horse and thus the largest possible distribution of power is achieved.
- the screw connection enables easy replacement of the top iron.
- At least one of the screws for fastening the top iron to the back support can have a lunging ring arranged perpendicular to the screw axis on the screw head.
- the lunging ring can be provided in addition to or instead of the actual screw head.
- Such a lunging ring is used to carry out longeing, in particular in the case of double loungers, so that the longeing is guided to the bridle in the manner of a rein. It has been shown that the position of the screws for fastening the top iron is advantageous for the arrangement of corresponding lunging rings. Due to the regularly required size of the lunging rings, the screws in question can also be loosened and tightened manually by turning the lunging rings if the connection is sufficiently firm. This enables a tool-free exchange of the top iron.
- the back support has padding which, when in use, lies on both sides of the spine of the horse on its back.
- Appropriate upholstery ensures a gentle introduction of force to the horse's back.
- the backrest of the lunging belt according to the invention can have fastening means for fastening additional weights to the backrest, preferably in the area of the webbing.
- additional weights By attaching appropriate additional weights, the balance and load capacity of the horse's back can be trained.
- Appropriate additional weights can also be used to promote muscle growth in convalescent or back-damaged horses. Due to the course of the webbing around the horse's torso achieved with the invention, the muscles required for later wearing a rider can be built up in a targeted manner when the additional weights are arranged in the area of the webbing.
- the lunging belt comprises a rear belt which can be fastened on the side of the backrest which is free of recesses relative to the belt strap.
- the rear belt can be designed to be length-elastic, for example by inserting rubber rings as elastic elements in an inelastic belt strap.
- the length of the backrest is preferably at least twice, more preferably at least three times as large as the width of the webbing. It is also preferred if at least one, preferably three fastening rings each are provided on the belt strap on both sides of the backrest and / or at least one, preferably in each case on the backrest on both sides of the axis of the central recess and / or on both sides of the belt strap two mounting rings are provided.
- Figure 1 is a first embodiment of a lunging belt 1 according to the invention in the state of use, that is to say in a state which is applied around the trunk 91 of a horse indicated by the outline 90.
- the same lunging belt 1 is basically also in Figures 2 and 3 to which additional reference is made.
- the lunging belt 1 is not shown in use, which is why the illustration of the rear belt 9 and an intermediate piece 2 'closing the belt webbing 2 is omitted there, while the additional weight 33 in Figure 1 is not shown.
- the lunging belt 1 according to Figures 1 to 3 comprises a multi-part webbing 2 which can be strapped in the area of the sternum 93 of the horse by means of buckles 21 and can also be released again.
- the lunging belt 1 comprises a back support 3 which is fixedly connected to the belt strap 2 by means of screws 22 and which extends on both sides and transversely to the longitudinal direction of the belt strap 2.
- the actual webbing 2 is divided in the area of the backrest 3, the two parts on both sides of the backrest 3 with screws 22 so firmly connected to it that the webbing 2 through the in the longitudinal direction of the webbing 2 and in Figure 1 Area 3 ′ of the backrest 3 indicated by the dashed line closed is.
- the area 3 'can thus be regarded as a link of the multi-link belt 2.
- the backrest 3 has a central recess 4 which is open on one side and through which the withers 92 of the horse 90 are passed when the lunging belt 1 is in use.
- a rigid gullet 5 extends over the recess 4 and the withers 92 and is firmly connected to the back support 3 on both sides of the recess 4.
- the recess 4 protrudes only insignificantly into the region 3 'of the belt webbing 2 of the backrest 3, so that the width of the region 3' is only 12% smaller than the other width due to the recess 4.
- the backrest 5 While the webbing 2 is fundamentally flexible for abutting the torso 91 of the horse 90, the backrest 5, on the other hand, has a recess 4 away from its central area 6 (see the area indicated by the broken line in FIG Figure 3 ) has a significantly higher rigidity in order to distribute the forces acting on the horse 90 via the back support 3 as evenly as possible over the entire contact surface of the back support 3. In order to nevertheless ensure a gentle introduction of force, the back support 3 has a suitable padding 31 on its inside.
- the backrest 3 has a lower stiffness in its central area 6 than the other areas, in order to be able to adapt the backrest 3 to the anatomy of a horse 90 by replacing the gullet plate 5.
- the relative position of the two areas on both sides of the central area 6 of the back support 3 can be changed by a suitable choice of the top iron 5 in order to adapt it to the back, in particular its width, of the respective horse 90.
- the gullet 5 is designed to be easily interchangeable and in particular is only fastened to the back support 5 with screws 51.
- the screws 51 have lunging rings 52 which are arranged perpendicular to the axis of the screws 51.
- the lunging rings 52 allow the screws 51 to be loosened and tightened manually, as a result of which a tool-free exchange of the top iron 5 is possible.
- the lunging rings 52 are arranged at positions on the back support 5 which are advantageous for the reins-like guiding of loungers.
- the webbing 2 is connected to the back support 3 via the screws 22.
- the exchange of the webbing 2 is also possible without any problems, for example in order to use a webbing 2 adapted to a specific animal.
- the belt webbing 2 it is also possible for the belt webbing 2 to have a plurality of through holes for the passage of the screws 22 in order to be attached to the back support 3 at different angles.
- Fastening means 32 for fastening additional weights 33 (cf. Figures 2 and 3 ) intended.
- additional weights 33 By attaching additional weights 33 shown by way of example in FIGS. 2 and 3, it is possible to build up the muscles of the horse 90 in a targeted manner.
- the additional weights 33 can have a total weight of 3 or 6 kg, for example.
- a rear belt 9 is fastened to fastening rings 8 arranged in the rear region of the backrest 3.
- the rear belt 9 runs parallel to the belt webbing 2 around the trunk 91 of the horse 90.
- the rear belt 9, which is basically made of an inelastic material, has rubber rings 9 'interposed, with which a longitudinal elasticity of the rear belt 9 is achieved.
- the length of the backrest 3 is 4 to 4.5 times the width of the webbing 2.

Description
- Figur 1:
- ein erstes Ausführungsbeispiel eines erfindungsgemäßen Longiergurtes in Verwendung mit Hintergurt;
- Figur 2:
- eine Detaildarstellung des Longiergurtes aus Figur 1;
- Figur 3:
- eine Draufsicht des Longiergurtes aus
Figuren 1 und2 . - In
