Automatic lock for doors or the like, having a latch (2) which is subject to the action of a latch spring and carries an arresting element (12) for arresting a driving-rod slide (13) which is forced into its arresting position, wherein the driving-rod slide (13) controls at least one bolt (3) in the locked and unlocked position and wherein the driving-rod slide (13) is released by a trigger (8) of the arresting element (12), projecting on the lock-plate front side, and, as a result, at least one bolt (3) moves into the locking position, characterized in that
    the trigger (8) is a two-armed pivot lever, of which the first arm (9) is formed by a sensing arm (10), of which the second arm (11) forms an arresting element (12) for the driving-rod slide (13) and is received in the slotted latch bolt (14).
  2. Automatic lock according to claim 1, characterized in that the vertical extension of the sensing arm (10) corresponds to at least 50% of the latch height (18).
  3. Automatic lock, in particular according to the preamble to claim 1 or 2, characterized in that the driving-rod slide (13) can be fixed in its unlocking position by means of a plug wheel (7).
  4. Automatic lock according to claim 3, characterized in that a handle element (31) can be fixed latch withdrawal position which can be determined by the plug wheel (6).
  5. Automatic lock according to claim 3, characterized in that the plug wheel (6) engages with blocking effect beneath the handle element (31), with a latch (2) drawn back over a handle cam assembly (4).
  6. Automatic lock according to claim 5, characterized in that the handle element (31) takes effect on the slotted latch bolt (14) by means of a pivotable latch lever (29).
